Currently at #10 on Cashbox Magazine's Americana Chart and #1 in the singer/songwriter genre in our region at Reverb Nation. Heartfelt Acoustic music by professional performing singer/songwriters. Originals and covers, pop, rock, country, Americana and some great old standards. We have memorable harmonies and have been well received at venues across the southeast. Available for private parties, weddings, receptions as well as intimate clubs, pubs and taverns. We have an easy, gentle sound, but we can get loud and rowdy if the venue dictates that. We love being on stage, have a sense of humor which we hope is dry rather than corny. Have been know to color outside the lines :)

You'll be entertained, you might hear a few jokes, you and your guests or patrons will definitely be impressed with the quality of sound and the professionalism of the performance. We have a professional attitude toward every gig, show up on time and put on a great show. People have told Martha that they could listen to her all night. Add uplifting storytelling to that and you have yourself one event they will always remember YOU for.
We live in a high-tech, fast-paced, immediate gratification society with SO many distractions, There is a new paradigm on the horizon - the experience-based economy, which requires that the audience remains engaged. Award-winning singer/songwriters/speakers Martha and Gary Alexander provide your event with a keynote speaker AND live original music. Hiring both entertainment and speaker to kick off your event is a great way to mix things up. Set the tone with a uniquely uplifting and empowering show, which will resonate with your audience and make your event the success you know it can be.
Talk The Talk
At age 12, Gary read "The Power Of Positive Thinking," by Norman Vincent Peale. When he was 18, he read, "Lead the Field," by Earl Nightingale. His father introduced him to both. He has been a student of that way of living ever since. Gary went on to excel in the insurance industry as owner, manager and teacher of numerous continuing education courses. His flair for making others around him feel hopeful, capable, and empowered is infectious and energizing. He influenced his wife, Martha, in this way when they met and her life has never been the same!
Martha's maternal grandmother introduced her to "As A Man Thinketh," by James Allen when she was around 10. Martha has had a difficult road, dealing with major depressive disorder and anxiety, but she has held fast to her spiritual upbringing. Gary introduced her to Marianne Williamson, among other personal growth experts; "A Course in Miracles" was a Christmas gift during their courtship. Gary succeeded in reminding Martha of her greatness, which helped give her the courage to perform for the first time in front of an audience at the famed Eddie's Attic in Decatur, GA, followed by the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville.
Together they continue to be daily students of the world's most revered influencers of human potential, meditating and practicing tai chi and enjoying nature in their sanctuary in the North Georgia mountains.
Walk The Walk
Inspiration can be elusive and fleeting. The end game, through Gary and Martha's inspirational talks, is to incite mindfulness and greatness into the audience and provide them with the tools needed to tap back into that powerful energy at will, to help them achieve their personal and professional best.
The music supports the takeaway of the story. Studies show that the frequency of sound (resonance) opens receptors in the brain of the listener, which are beneficial in their ability to "playback" the event.
Through their "special delivery," your audience gets 50 years of combined human potential practice and musical performance, concentrated into one of many custom concerts, with stories and takeaways that will absolutely transform their lives.
Their message is one of personal growth, emphasizing that we can all harness positive energy to help meet our highest purpose. By reaching our full potential, we improve not only ourselves but the WORLD.
well, let's not get too technical ...

From Alison Krauss to Warren Zevon and pretty much everything in between. Martha's silky smooth vocal combines with Gary's gritty delivery, which makes for a dichotomy of soulful sound. Think Martina McBride meets Tom Petty - it's unique, it's trendy, it's something you have to experience to really appreciate and appreciate you will!
