S I L I K A Contortion is a Toronto based Contortionist, Hand Balancer, and pole dancer. At age 14 Silika was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Seeking a practice to free her from chronic pain and transcend her body's limitations, she found her home in contortion and circus arts. A self-taught artist and born from years of deep ritual and meditation. Her chosen stage name SILIKA, is an element abundant in the earth's crust and represents energy, flexibility and resilience - all elements that have been her ally in pushing past her obstacles.
Silika has been performing for over eight years. In 2018 she traveled to Mongolia to study at their international school for circus arts.

You need to see Silika Contortion live! She is an extremely powerful and mystifying performer. She dances like 'nobody is watching' and can bend her body into mind-boggling shapes that are truly incomprehensible. Silika's ELECTRIC routines are unique- you never know what she is going to bring to the table- but her acts are never short of incredible. Pure jaw-dropping entertainment. As someone who's deep in the circus and live performer circle, I wholeheartedly recommend Edina. As a part time performer myself, I have had the pleasure to work with her; but mostly to hire her for very exclusive events at some of the most iconic Toronto venues. Her performance rubs shoulders with those taking on stage in Vegas. However, as far as her performance quality, I think the clips speak for themselves.

Expect extreme back bends, over splits, twisting and turning and strong handstand holds. Expect to be enchanted and mesmerized with graceful movements and skillful postures inspired by ancient mongolian techniques.
SiLiKa offers performances and costume animation to suit all styles of events whether for corporate or for private shows. Expect a beautiful look that will add to the ambiance of the environment and allure and inspire the audience!
SiLiKa grew up in Montreal and had a strong passion to be a healer. She studied 5 years as a special aids worker and social worker. But plans quickly changed when she discovered healing through deep stretching. She pursued her passion endlessly and became a self taught contortionist and never turned back.
SiLika is now a contortionist, acrobat, and dancer of Toronto and Montreal. SiLiKa discovered healing through contortion combined with meditation. The process began while sitting in contorted postures for three hours daily over the course of six months. As her techniques evolved, SiLika began infusing breath work into her repertoire to promote a relaxed state which ultimately lead to healing. SiLiKa weaves various forms of tribal dance and contortion that resonate with her unique path to self-liberation. She now has the privilege to be training with Canada's Got Talent's top contender, Aygul Memet, and includes skilled techniques used in traditional Mongolian practices.
Staging:
A stage, sturdy table, or riser is necessary for all viewers to see. The riser must be a minimum of 4ft by 4ft, sturdy, and must have a smooth surface. I can perform on alternative surfaces as well such as a giant box, a grand piano, or other surfaces so long as they meet the requirements specified above.

My work is inspired by the traditional Mongolian Techniques of Contortion. I have been personally inspired by my mentor Aygul Memet, Canada's Got Talents top contender, who trained at the Mongolian Circus school for 8 years of her life and performed all over the world.
