Cassidy will maintain solid communication between first contact and the date of the event. She will arrive to the event one hour prior, provide her own equipment if needed, and set up without disturbance. Cassidy will play 45-50 minute sets for up to four hours, breaking the last 10-15 minutes of each hour unless otherwise requested prior to the event. She will provide family-friendly, acoustic music befitting to the venue; her solo acoustic performance is perfect for backyard get-togethers, intimate house concerts, wedding processionals, and cocktail parties.
Breathing new life into ancient motifs, Appalachian singer-songwriter Cassidy Dickens creates intimate Americana-meets-indie-folk music. A 2017 Beachcomber Music Award Nominee for Best Female Vocalist, Best Singer Songwriter, Album of the Year, and Best Original Song, Cassidy’s songs and voice often draw comparison to female folk and pop rock favorites like Jewel, Alanis Morisette, Stevie Nicks, Lori McKenna, and Grace Potter.
Currently splitting her time between her home state of West Virginia and Nashville, TN, Cassidy has been performing throughout the U.S. for more than ten years. Her debut album Ghosts, released June 2015, was a heartfelt 14-track compilation of songs written over the span of her junior high, high school, and early college years. She released her follow up album, Anxious Love, in 2019. More recently, Cassidy has released a collection of singles recorded in collaboration with Nashville-based producer Sean Giovanni.
Cassidy began her journey as a professional musician when she was only 12, drawing influence from classic bluegrass and country music — including that of predecessors Little Jimmy and Hazel Dickens — as well as from 60s-70s folk hits and modern-day quirky indie idols like Ingrid Michaelson and Regina Spektor. Now, in her late 20s, the sum of her lifelong writing career is a youthful-yet-wise perspective on topics more typical of someone many years her senior. Favoring classic subjects like love, home, and nostalgia, her light-heartedly introspective lyrics and lilting, sultry voice take listeners on an emotional road trip through raw heartache, humorous deprecation, and hopeful reflection.
Cassidy uses a Fender Passport PRO 150 Portable PA and will provide her own mics, stands, cables, etc. She will need access to one electrical outlet; for outdoor venues, an extension cord may be required.
