Danjo Jazz Orchestra is a 17 piece ensemble led by trombonist & composer Andrew Wegierski. We offer a flexible instrumentation in order to fit your live music needs best! Just let us know if you prefer a trio, quartet, quintet, sextet, "little big band", or full 17 piece orchestra! (for the small configurations Andrew will hire the your choice of horns - saxophone, trombone, trumpet, in addition to your choice of piano or guitar).
We regularly perform all styles of jazz music - swing, bossa nova, samba, trad jazz, ballad, fusion, etc - from all different eras. Our specialties are the swing big band music of the 50's to 70's as well as original arrangements and compositions.
We recently had the Danjo Jazz Orchestra perform for a Mardi Gras themed fund raising gala and the response from everybody there was overwhelmingly positive. Guests, committee members, and even the venue staff were talking about the talent of the group all night, and we continued to receive compliments and inquiries about them for weeks after the event. Andrew, the band leader, was extremely easygoing, flexible, and easy to work with as we navigated through last minute changes and a few unexpected hiccups in out agenda for the evening. Overall, they are a very talented group consisting of extremely friendly individuals and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a group to perform.

A group of professional working musicians in the Cleveland/Akron, OH area that always strive to perform at the highest level. Our public concerts and private events are full of great music, energy, and positive vibes! We are rehearsed, prepared, punctual, and flexible to accommodate the unique nature of your event! We have a large music library that spans from the earliest forms of jazz - 20's, 30's, to the bop era of the 50's and 60's, fusion of the 70's and 80's, to modern jazz music of today, including even original compositions! Andrew (bandleader) can even arrange special requests with advance notice.
The Danjo Jazz Orchestra has entertained audiences across Northeast Ohio for over 10 years. Originally founded by bassist Dan Angotti in May of 2010, the band is now directed by Cleveland native trombonist, composer, and arranger Andrew Wegierski. Under Andrew’s leadership, the Danjo Jazz Orchestra has steadily performed around Northeast Ohio at venues such as Blu Jazz+, Jilly's Music Room, BOP STOP, and the Venice Cafe, among others. The band also released one EP entitled Danjo. The recording showcases Danjo's stylistic versatility, including selections from the Buddy Rich Big Band, Maynard Ferguson, Count Basie Orchestra. and an original chart of Andrew's, "Spoon Bag." Danjo is available for listening on all major streaming platforms.

Today, the band continues to forge onward as a distinct musical voice in the Northeast Ohio scene. With an ever-expanding musical library, the Danjo Jazz Orchestra’s mission is to push the boundaries of the contemporary big band, while also maintaining the legacy of the great bands who established the big band tradition.
For any configuration - there must be at least two working outlets in close proximity to the stage/performing space, to accommodate the piano, guitar amp, bass amp, and PA system (if applicable).
