Loved their music. Created a relaxed and inviting atmosphere.
Classical Duo
I had ideas in my head of what I wanted the duo to play at my wedding. Mary was very accomodating of this and even pulled music of my suggestions so she could play when I arrived. She played the songs I thought I wanted to walk down the aisle to. She could tell it was different than I thought. Together we went through some other music and she played until I felt certain it was correct. She even proofed my program to make sure all music and composers were given proper credit for their work. On the day of the wedding it was raining. They were accomodating again and played inside the doors of Old Main instead of outside as originally planned. Thank you very much for all you did! I now have that experience and music that will last forever instead of the songs from "Top 40" that I'm sure I would've looked back on and wished I did something different :) I can't wait to see the video!! Blessings to you both!

What to Expect
For weddings I will help select music (special requests taken). I will assist in program listings. We also can play for cocktails and/or reception using our jazz, pop and classical repertoire. Can provide lovely "background" music for almost every occasion. The violin/guitar duo is especially adaptable, performing special requests from Classical to Celtic! We have performed weddings, birthdays, memorial services, receptions, fund raisers and parties.
About
I have been performing professionally for over 40 years! I was a National Young Audience performer and toured with a professional String Quartet for 5 years throughout the Northwest and Canada. There have been numerous Concertmaster positions with symphonies and chamber orchestras throughout the United State. Currently I perform with the Symphony of NW Arkansas (SoNA) I have my Masters Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. While in Colorado I also did "gigs" with Jazz Bands and did some studio work. I have played hundreds of weddings with various ensembles and enjoy teaming up with my string professional friends. I'm expanding to include Jazz in my offering, performing with a wonderful Classical/Spanish/Jazz guitarist. I'm a Classical violinist, but I do enjoy expanding into other styles. I coach at the Grand Lakes Festival Fiddle Camp each Labor Day weekend and play at my church whenever possible. I have maintained a private teaching studio for 40 years, keeping 20-40 violin students. For 25 years I taught with the Suzuki Music School of Arkansas affiliated with the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and have trained extensively in the Suzuki method. I now teach Orchestra for the Fayetteville Public Schools with 9 groups and over 300 students!!
Additional Booking Notes
No real special needs but my guitarist uses a small amp for projection. A Classical guitar (unplugged) is difficult to be heard except in a quiet performance venue.

Influences & Inspiration
Classically trained (both have our masters degree in performance) we have expanded our selections to include traditional jazz and pop selections. Stephan Grapelli and Joe Venuti are two of my favorite jazz violinists. Texas Shorty has inspired my "fiddling" and David Oistrach is my favorite Classical violinist.
Setup Requirements
two straight back (armless) chairs, electrical plug, good lighting.
Cannot perform if there's rain drops and/or direct sunshine!
