Overview
JT Trawick (JAY-TEE TRAY-WHICK)
Imagine if Willie Nelson and John Prine got in a bar fight, but Randy Newman was pouring drinks..
His songs have been compared to the likes of Townes, Blaze & Prine, and, much like them, his music is rooted in the heart & soul of American folk. A fourth generation Ozark musician, JT cut his chops in a rich, self-taught family tradition of fiddling, guitar backup and harmony singing.
Offerings include:
JT & the Mudbugs - authentic Texan swing & original Ozark country, a true Americana dance band
Rowdy Mountain - down from the mountain traditional & original bluegrass
Solo/Duo/Trio customized ensembles available

Jt and his crew came up to perform for my mom’s 70th surprise party. They had many compliments from guests throughout the night. It was an awesome evening with great guitar and fiddle playing. They arrived early set up and played a great set of songs. Super nice people to work with. Very personable and professional all the way!
These guys got nothing but comlments from our guests. All ages loved the music. I want to thank the band for making our wedding day fun. You knocked it out of the park!

Was a blast, Donna! Enjoyed meeting you and bringing some banjo to the big day :)
This was a “yard” party with about 60 guests, raising money for a foundation. Forecast was for absolutely no rain…. but it rained! JT and his crew showed up plenty early, figured out a plan, set up and once they started playing my guests couldn’t help but have fun!
JT won the crowd over, we are thrilled! He really captured the theme of the night (Crab Fest), and loved that he walked around while playing and engaged with event guests. He really made it a fun atmosphere that brought a lot of joy to the occasion. Thank you JT!

We had JT play acoustic bluegrass music for our son's birthday party, and he was absolutely phenomenal. His music not only added a beautiful soundtrack to the day but truly helped smooth over any social anxieties among the guests. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and it was wonderful to see people of all ages enjoying the music—dancing, relaxing, and connecting.
JT's original songs were heartfelt and moving, and he perfectly tailored the setlist to suit the vibe of our event. He played music that delighted our little one, evoked nostalgia for the adults, and, most importantly, brought everyone together, bridging gaps between different sides of the family. His talent and thoughtful approach made the party an unforgettable experience for all. I can’t recommend JT highly enough if you're looking for an amazing musician to bring people together with the power of beautiful, genuine music.
JT and his band made our recption a blast. Our guests were all ages. Everyone had a blast. I would love to hire these guys again.

We have now booked JT as a solo as well as with his band. Both are fantastic! JT has a friendly and charismatic personality. He modified verses to make the crowd laugh, and he took pictures with the older ladies, who flirted relentlessly. He was so professional and fun. We highly recommend! 👏
~ catch ya next time! ❤️

Thanks, Greg! Kind words. Sure was a beautiful day to play and you made it easy with your clear instructions and song requests. I was personally moved by your family's stories and memories. Honored to have been a part of such a beautiful memorial.
JT Trawick and the Mudbugs were perfect for our fundraising event. I received several compliments regarding the band from people in attendance. They were professional, easy to work with, and the music was great.
I had a great experience hiring JT and his band for my wedding rehearsal cookout. JT was easy to communicate with and we were able to coordinate all of the details flawlessly beforehand. He was accommodating in the type of music that I was looking for and was able to work with me on the venue setup and the best arrangement for sound quality. For the actual performance they sounded amazing and all of the guests were really into them the whole time. They played a lot of great songs and everyone was really happy with it and there was some good dancing going on. It was a great way to kick off the weekend! I highly recommend hiring them for your event.

A 4th generation musician and songwriter originally from the heart of Arkansas where the Ozark mountains fade away into the Arkansas River valley, JT was influenced early on by his Grandpa’s fiddle music and the invigorating sounds of Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys. Today, JT performs a wide variety of music within the acoustic Americana spectrum including covers of Hank Williams, Willie Nelson and Glen Campbell. His own originals have been compared to the likes of John Prine or Guy Clark and he always has a hot breakdown fiddler in the band. Bring your boots and a partner to dance, or just come for some good songs and remember the good times.
