We play two hours of 80s-inspired original dance rock and one hour of covers from the artists that inspired us.
M4TR = Music 4 The Revolution. We bring you rebellious dance-rock from the retro-future - what tomorrow looks like from the past. We come from a distant plane on the space-time continuum - where synthwave, disco, punk, blues, funk, soul and rap live on eternally. We create musical utopia in the midst of social dystopia. We play happy-sad songs about evolution, revolution, devolution, activism, narcissism, technology, trolls, billionaires, monkeys, fish, mermaids, nature, earth, ghosts, stalkers, nuclear war, madness, futbol, death and, above all, love.
The current lineup - AJ Solaris (vox/synths/acoustic guitar), Laura Cosmosa (vox/percussion), Mark Galaxion (vox/guitars), Rich Technovator (bass), Owen Velocity (drums) - met jamming in Flashband, playing on stages like Jammin Java, Union Stage, Pearl Street Warehouse, Public Bar Live, Songbyrd Cafe, DC Pieshop, Black Cat and more.
AJ, M4TR's founder and principal songwriter, has original songs, albums, soundtracks, covers and singles that have tallied more than 1,900,000+ streams on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon, Soundcloud, YouTube, TikTok on over 4,100+ playlists. M4TR songs have 1,000,000+ cross-platform streams to date.
AJ is busy writing M4TR’s next album Love Is The Revolution.
Follow M4TR on Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, Amazon Music, and Instagram for the latest sights and sounds.
We have our own live speakers, stage monitors, lights and backing tracks, we need good power sources.
