I play a wide array of music from many different genres including: soft rock, pop rock, classic rock, classical, Broadway tunes, gospel; tunes with a rich beautiful melody being the common thread. My style of music is ideal for restaurants, lounges and any venue with a piano on site. No piano in your home/venue? No worries, I got you covered! I have a full sized (88 keys) Yamaha digital piano and can provide the entertainment, even if you can't provide the piano! If you're having a party or any kind of social event in your home/venue, Michael the piano man is the perfect man for the job! Michael played for the cocktail hour at a mystery theme party at my home. His participation really set the tone for the evening: lively and fun, and a special way to start the night. Michael was extremely professional and communicated with me throughout the booking and evening. He did a fantastic job!

Our wedding ceremony had a beautiful soundtrack thanks to Michael and his music. Michael was great to work with and even met us ahead of time to hear the equipment in the church. We gave him the songs we wanted to hear ahead of time and they were played during the ceremony beautifully. Since we had a Catholic Mass, traditionally there is a lot of singing. We wanted to do something different and Michael took on the challenge. His piano playing was a great compliment to our ceremony.

Thank you so much...you hit the nail right on the head...a wedding ceremony is almost like staging a one act musical theater production...in this case, without the benefit of a full dress rehearsal...which made this event/production very challenging to pull off successfully...to say the very least! Michael was the perfect pianist for our wedding ceremony. He showed up to the rehearsal & ceremony on time, he was easy to communicate with throughout the process, he played beautifully during the 40-min ceremony, and he had deep knowledge of the music so that - even when we changed plans about the songs the day before - he was able to quickly accommodate us and play the new music. During the mingling in the church, he played: Fields of Gold, Above All, and Wind Beneath My Wings. The bridal party processed to Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring, the bride to Canon in D, and the recessional was Ode to Joy. Don't plan on getting married again, but if I did I'd use Michael!

Michael is a wonderful key board player. He is versatile and will play requests. His style is soft and plays well when your party is full of conversation-which worked well for us. If you want good music underscoring an event ( and not overshadowing it) then we highly recommend Michael, the piano man.

About
I've been playing the piano since I was 7-8 years old and have an outstanding ear for music. My specialty is playing tunes strictly by ear and because of this very special talent, I am able to learn/master new song pieces within a relatively short amount of time (which varies, depending upon the complexity of the piece). I also took several music classes when I attended college at State University of New York at Albany, including music theory. As a result, my level of understanding and skill level on the piano has steadily increased ever since, and I continue to improve every single day. I'm very dedicated to my craft (which I don't take lightly or for granted) and practice daily, to ensure I'm playing to the best of my ability at your event/venue. My goal is to meet/exceed your expectations at your venue or next event, and I thank you for the opportunity, in advance, to do just that!
Additional Booking Notes
For my customers who don't have a piano on site; no worries! have a Yamaha P115 digital piano (with stand and bench), with built in speakers. If the event and/or venue requires additional volume, I have a speaker/speaker cable. I also have microphone with mic stand/mic cables for singing.

My influences come from a wide variety of genres/generations. As long as the song has a beautiful rich melody, no style of music is off the table for me! I grew up during the 70's/80's, so most of the tunes I play were written prior to 1990.
