Live Music Makes Great Events Come Alive!
Music through the ages - Our constantly increasing repertoire of tunes can provide anything from casual dinner music to a high energy dance party. With familiar tunes from past greats like James Brown, Aretha Franklin, The Jackson Five, Stevie Wonder right up to modern grooves from Cee Lo Green and Amy Winehouse, your guests will be up dancing and leave humming their favourites of the night.
We hired Monkley Cascade to perform at our backyard wedding. We absolutely loved them! The guests raved about the band and we danced the night away to some great music! The band had an extensive and impressive repertoire (and even added to this list as new music came out) which made it super easy for us to select some great songs! They also learned 2 songs for our wedding, including our first dance song, which made it extra special! We highly recommend the band and we would not hesitate to hire them again!
Monkley Cascade were a fantastic choice! We’re so happy we were able to book then for our wedding. The music fit all our needs from the wedding ceremony to cocktail hour to reception. The band is very talented and learned the songs we requested to make our day special. We wanted to note that the flautist was incredible. You know the band is good when the guests go out of their way to compliment them during the day and days after.
Not only was the music great, they never missed a beat with custom additions to our MC script. We utilized them a few times during speeches.
Communicating with Emily was incredibly easy and she was prompt. I really appreciated this aspect.
If there’s an event where we need a band, we’ll be reaching out to Monkley Cascade again because they’re as professional as they are talented. Thank you!
Emily, you and the band were amazing and even better than you were two years ago when you played for our daughter's wedding. We loved that you mingled with the crowd and integrated with our guests. Stellar job and everyone had so much fun, we’re still hearing feedback from our friends!
We hired the Hamilton area band, Monkley Cascade for my Son's and new Daughter-in-laws wedding this past weekend and we could not have been happier. My son and his new bride fell in love with this band a few years ago at their best man's wedding. Since then they were adamant that this is who they wanted for their wedding. So glad we did. I have never danced so much at a wedding and neither have I been to a wedding that had the dance floor so full. Emily Kemp, the lead singer has an amazing voice accompanied by the most versatile and talented musicians. We had a keyboard for the ceremony, a trio of drums, guitar and upright bass for our cocktail hour (more like 2 hours) then the five piece band inside on the stage. They have an extensive repertoire of songs that you can select from for them to play or they will create their own sets. They will also learn a song or two for you. My son's name is Daniel and I rewrote the lyrics to Elton John's song "Daniel" for the groom/mother of the groom dance. I asked Emily if it was possible for her and the band to learn the new lyrics and play it at the wedding. It sounded awesome and was a very special moment at the wedding. The difference between a DJ and a live band is huge and if the band is great like Monkley Cascade, its exponential. The bit more it costs for this band compared to a DJ is worth every penny. The band will work with you to make sure you're happy and make you're day special. Apart from sounding fantastic, little touches like coming onto the dance floor during a song added to the guests enjoyment and festivities.
If you're looking for a band that energizes a party and sounds great and keeps a party going, I highly recommend Monkley Cascade for your event. You won't be disappointed. We had so many of our guests compliment us on this band we hired for the wedding.
I definitely recommend this band for your wedding. I'm so glad I found them online. It was so easy to find great songs from their list. Plus, they can learn any songs you request! They had the oldies, top 40's, rock classics, and all the tunes to get every age group on the dance floor. I even got to go up there and play with the band, which was pretty intimidating because these guys are talented professionals!
Emily, the lead singer, was especially great. She would run into the audience, sing with my family and friends, and got everyone in the mood. The whole band was so genuine and pleasant to deal with.
I couldn't recommend these guys more.
This was actually the second time I hired Monkley Cascade and they were absolutely amazing, yet again! Emily was great to work with in advance to ensure the evening ran smoothly. Their breadth of music is really great for getting all ages up on the dance floor. Same as last time, I had a ton of compliments on how great they were throughout the night! 100% recommend!
Monkley Cascade were absolutely incredible. They have such a unique sound and style, and the variety of music they play appealed to all of our wedding guests. They played a slower dinner set that completely set the tone for our meal, and then had all of the guests up and dancing for hours! They are professional, friendly, exceptionally easy to work with, and my friends and family cannot stop talking about them! They really went above and beyond for my husband and I to show us a great time, and we are so appreciative. The band even learned two brand new songs for us so that our first dance and the Father-Daughter dance would could occur with live music. I HIGHLY recommend them and will definitely be sharing their name amongst my friends. Thanks again you guys!!
We hired Monkley Cascade to play for our outdoor wedding. Not only were they easy to work with and extremely accommodating, but they also made our wedding such a night to remember! They took so much stress out of planning the wedding because they were so knowledgable and able to give suggestions on how the day could run. To this day (over a year and a half later) we have guests tell us how awesome our wedding was, and we feel as though we completely have this group of awesome musicians to thank for it! They read the crowd, and played music that made everyone, young and old, feel the need to dance. It was amazing. I would hire them again for a party in a second!
We've seen them at a couple weddings since, and we love them!
Monkley Cascades helped us out in a pinch when the week before our scheduled event was to happen, our booked band cancelled on us. They are prompt with their communication, accommodating and able to pull off a fantastic last minute show. The band was outstanding with incredible vocals and an upbeat playlist that kept us all going right on to the end of the night. Thank you Emily!
I hired Monkley Cascade for my birthday party this past weekend and the band was amazing. I got about 30 comments throughout the night on how great they were. Good variety of songs, and they even learned a David Bowie song for me! They were very professional and a lot of fun to dance to.
I can't wait to hire them for another party! Highly recommend!!
My husband and I were married in a backyard wedding on August 9th and one of the best decisions we made was hiring Monkley Cascade to entertain our guests. You definitely should too!
They showed up early to set up the microphone for our ceremony, then three band members played some jazz during cocktails between our ceremony and dinner. After dinner the full band took the stage and really got the party started.
They were so professional - showing up on time and getting all their equipment set up without any assistance from us, allowing us time to deal with other vendors that required more direction. They are a young, fresh, fun, and vibrant group and they throughly entertained all our guests. They created a playlist that had everyone dancing at some point in the evening. They were a significant part of the celebration that made the night a complete success!
We had multiple guests commenting on how much they enjoyed Monkley Cascade - both their music and hanging out with them during their breaks. My cousin ended up hiring them for her cocktail hour during her wedding the next month, in addition to a band she had already hired.
I would whole heartedly recommend them to anyone considering a band for any event.
Outdoor spaces need big sound to deliver that fun party vibe. Our Annual BBQ is always a hit when we hire Monkley Cascade . Motown, Rock, Jazz. This band hits all the right notes for our outdoor party.
We heard everything from Motown to the latest hits with a little jazz mixed in. Everyone had a great time on the dance grass (backyard wedding). The band created great energy the whole night.
