Poppy la Fae sprouted forth from seeds planted by past lives on stage and informed by an education in queer theory. Whether campy or classic, they’re out to prove femme doesn’t mean frail. This neurodivergent, nonbinary, bipolar bisexual has been leaving audiences breathless and begging for more since 2017.
A Richmond native, Poppy draws inspiration from the rich art community in the city. An educator at heart, they live to learn and offer fan dance classes as available. Poppy also serves on the ARAO committee with Burlycon. This faerie doesn’t want to steal your name, they want to steal your heart.
My entertainment company has had the pleasure of working with Poppy as a fan dancer on a number of occasions. They are our go to person for all things fan dance but also have very solid skills in character acting, choreography building & burlesque which have been a joy to all audiences we have booked them for. Poppy will work hard for you to provide a memorable experience for your event and will ultimately deliver a performance that will be truly memorable for yourself & your guests.

Poppy offers burlesque, fan dancing, veil dancing, go go, and character work. Their signature acts range from campy to classic, nerdy to provocative. They are available for choreographed acts, improv to dj or live band music either with or without clothing removal. They are known for their storytelling through their acts and bringing characters to life.
Poppy is prompt, organized, and professional. They like to be well-prepared for any event and will deliver their best when provided ample information on what the gig will entail, though they are flexible to the whims of live productions.
