Prickly Pair Jazz Duo played at my wedding reception. First off: they performed wonderfully! They created an an atmosphere that was pleasant, classy, and relaxed. Secondly, all my guests loved the music! Nobody had to shout over each other and the overall mood was pleasant. These guys are on time, respectful, clean cut, and very talented. I would recommend them to everyone!

Prickly Pair were awesome. A great chill vibe for a laid back welcome event. Many compliments.
Jazz Band
Highly accomplished musicians, and great guys, too. We will definitely be booking them again. You hear echoes of Joe Pass, Dizzy Gillespie, and Ron Carter.

These three were perfect! They were dressed impeccably, sounded beautiful, and made everything seem very easy. Our garden ceremony wouldn’t have been the same without their touch of class.

The Prickly Pair Jazz Duo was perfect for our corporate event. We were looking for background music during our pre-dinner reception as well as background music for dinner. The music--and volume of the music-was perfect. In addition, we started our program at 8:00 p.m. during which time they had to "break down" their equipment. They were so quiet doing that, I forgot they were even there!!!
Thanks, Dan.

The audience of ~75 loved their performance. They have played with some of the all-time jazz and blues greats for a very definite reason. We are definitely having them back. Top notch.

Prickly Pair was exactly what I was looking for at my event.
They came early, were prepared and were very nice!
Everyone enjoyed the music!
Jazz Band
Prickly Pair showed up ahead of time, set up and started doing their thing - which is wonderful to hear! Smooth Jazz which everyone could enjoy - added to the atmosphere without being intrusive just gave the right "vibe" to the evening.
Would wholeheartedly recommend.

The guys were terrific. Consummate musicians and very personable. Our even planner mentioned how they added greatly to the ambiance. 200 attendees who stayed for the duration! So happy with how it all turned out!

I did not want a DJ for my wedding, but I did want some live jazz. The Prickly Pair Jazz duo was great: they played standard jazz favorites, and the music was a great compliment to the reception! Communication was very easy, and I enjoyed working with them.

Dennis and Dave of The Prickley Pear Jazz Duo were perfect for our Celebration of life event even in a venue with less than stellar acoustics. Very accomplished musicians and very personable.
Our guests came about 10 minutes early so they asked if they could go ahead and start! The volume was just right to hear but still allow conversation. I went outside briefly and missed the one song I had specifically requested, so they played it again for me!
Couldn't have been better!
Thank you.

They arrived and were set up before our dinner began at the Musical Instrument Museum in the courtyard. They are experienced and talented and just very cool dudes.

They play straight-ahead jazz, quiet but intense. You can have a conversation over it, but it's worth devoting your listening attention to it if you're so inclined. -Jay P

I can’t recommend a better local jazz musician. We hired Dan for our wedding and he really kicked the occasion up to another level of class with his solid playing. We’ll definitely call him again for some future event. - Dave McElfresh (former jazz writer for Goldmine, Cadence, Coda, Downbeat, Wire, Phoenix New Times, Tucson Weekly, Jazz Now)
