Retro Soul

If you are lucky enough to work with Nick Fannon and Retro Soul, you will not be disappointed. Nick’s prep was very comprehensive. Aside from preparation ahead of time, Nick and the band were great on the day of the ceremony. They did a terrific job setting up beforehand, working with the vendor representative and ensuring all microphones were in place and in good working order. They supplied background music for the guests filing in, keyboard accompanist for our niece/nephew at the ceremony (arranging rehearsal time with both), and during the cocktail hour outdoors, a wonderful live jazz mix (3-piece). Michelle, Michael and the band were absolutely amazing during the reception; they had the right fast/slow/contemporary/classic mix that kept our guests dancing the entire night…and that is no exaggeration. Michelle’s announcements (MC role) were spot on, and she had a delightful, engaging way with our guests. Get the horns, they were worth it!

While the performance the night of the wedding was the most important to us, I have to say that planning beforehand was a very close second. Nick offered excellent advice along the way and kept us on track over the months we were working with him. He answered our questions promptly, often the same day. He will offer suggestions that you can use or not use, and he has no rigid notions about what you absolutely have to do, it’s your reception and he respects your ideas. They are offered to learn and rehearse new songs, and we gave them a doozy of an assignment…a traditional Polish polka! They did great job! We recommend Nick and Retro Soul without reservation.

Retro Soul is a must book! Nick was fabulous to work with. He was attentive to details and never missed a beat. On the day of the event, the group came in set up and was ready to roll. The program was a huge success! All the neighboring receptions were envious of our entertainment. We received many compliments and even had several people asking for Retro Soul's contact info. From the lead singers to the other staff working the show - they are all true professionals! They worked the stage so well - they had everyone dancing to the music. I would totally book Retro Soul again!

Retro Soul's energy and professionalism was outstanding, and the group provided an insanely-fun way to start off the wedding reception festivities. Through every step of the process, Nick & Co. worked alongside us and catered to exactly what we had hoped for. As an added bonus, Retro Soul gave me (the groom), as well as my best man, the opportunity to sing with the band and serenade my wife.

Thanks for a fun, exciting, and amazing way to give us - and our guests - a way to get down, bust some moves, and enjoy one heckuva wedding.

We thought the band did a great job. They sounded great and everyone had a great time. They were also really easy to work with and very easy to talk to and work with throughout the event!! Would definitely use them again.

We found them on the internet through demo videos and they are way better in person. A lot of energy and excitement to liven the crowd, lots of dancing. Very professional in timeliness, looks, lights and equipment. We were so happy to have them at our holiday party and got rave reviews from many of the attendees!! A +++ band for all parties. I am sure we will see them again!

My husband & I had the pleasure of being entertained by Retro Soul on a recent cruise aboard the Pacific Pearl. They are awesome! Just about any song you would like to hear is performed with pleasure and enthusiasm. Michelle has a fantastic voice and tops it off with a beautiful friendly smile.. All the guys in the band are great musicians and fun to watch.I will be watching for an album release so that all here in Oz can enjoy Retro Soul"down under" We wish you well Retro Soul and hope to see you again some day..

I was lucky enough for Retro Soul to be booked for the cruise I took on the Pacific Pearl in May, 2012. If there is any song that Michelle & the band can't cover brilliantly, then I haven't heard it, & I heard them perform a lot of songs. Michelle's interpretations of the great songs that make up the band's extensive repertoire were brilliant. Despite all of the other activities available on the ship, we found ourselves gravitating to wherever Retro Soul happened to be performing at the time, & always enjoyed the experience. I hope that somehow, some day I'll get another chance to watch the band perform (which could be hard unless they do another cruise contract, as I live in Melbourne, Australia). In the meantime I just hope that they go ahead with producing an album so that I can at least listen to them again.
