Roby "Supersax" Edwards

Roby Edwards was born in Pittsburgh, PA and is part of a lineage of great Pittsburgh born musicians. He learned his art the old fashioned way, on stage with accomplished musicians night after night since the age of 16.
His musical journey began upon hearing an album of the great Wes Montgomery. Roby started playing trumpet in the 4th grade school band with no ideas of becoming a musician. He then saw a Travel magazine in his father's office with a saxophonist and was drawn to the instrument. He started his 5th grade year an alto saxophonist and was immediately recognized as having an above average talent for the instrument. Soon after he heard Charlie "Bird" Parker and the rest is history.
He has since then performed in over 12 countries as a bandleader as well as a sideman with some of the best in the business. His travels and experience have taught him the value of entertaining his audience as well as presenting world class sax artistry. Highly versatile, he is capable of interpreting many forms and styles of music. This ability has allowed him to be involved in a wide range of musical projects and associations.
Roby currently resides in Pittsburgh, PA and continues to travel extensively as a World-Class Saxophonist, Performer, Teacher and Recording Artist.
