Sarah has played for over 15 years, is the cellist of Arbor Strings, and a member of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra. She has performed in large and small ensembles throughout her musical career and has always favored playing for events as a solo cellist and as part of small ensembles. Sarah can provide a complete repertoire of traditional wedding and entertainment music and is open to special requests even if they aren't typically written for cello (i.e., pop music, jazz, blue grass). Sarah is happy to speak with you about arranging solo cello or a string ensemble with your choice of violins, viola, or classical guitar to entertain your guests with beautiful live music at your event.
We booked Sarah to play during our wedding ceremony. She provided the most beautiful musical backdrop to our perfect day. We gave her a few requests and she was happy to learn something new to play for us! We would hire her again in a heartbeat.
We booked Sarah and a violinist for our wedding ceremony in May 2023. It was perfect. Not only did they play beautifully, but Sarah was also communicating with me a lot the month of the wedding as we went back and forth picking out a recessional piece because I was indecisive. She provided advice and song suggestions, and it all turned out amazing!
Arbor Strings were absolutely incredible! They performed flawlessly for our daughter's wedding ceremony and the cocktail hour. Our guests were blown away!!!! So thankful we had them as part of our celebration!!! It was so special!!!
Sarah added the perfect touch to our event. She was personable and had an obvious command of the cello. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Sarah and highly recommend her.
Where to begin!! Sarah, and Arbor Strings, are absolutely one of a kind! With a unique spin on the traditional ceremony and reception music, Arbor Strings brings an impeccable performance to your event! Working with arbor Strings, and Sarah, leading up to the event is as equally enjoyable. A totally responsive, flexible, and reliable experience. BUT JUST WAIT UNTIL they start performing. I promise you will be begging them to do an encore! You three are a total pleasure to be around and work with! Thank you for everything!
Sarah played beautifully, was well prepare sand our guests loved her playing!
We booked Sarah and her trio, Arbor Strings to play here in Downtown Smithfield to provide entertainment on a Friday night when we closed the street to allow for outside dining and family-friendly fun. They arrived on time and ready to play. They played a great variety of music, from classical to contemporary, and everyone really enjoyed them! One of the highlights is when they had a large group of toddlers and preschoolers dancing in front of them and played “Baby Shark,” which no one expected, but it was a hit! I would absolutely book Arbor Strings again!
Very professional, responsive to requests and immensely talented. Our event was elevated by the performance. Thrilled and grateful.
Sarah did an amazing job! Our guest gave some many compliments on how beautiful the music was! Sarah was so easy to work with and would most definitely book her again!
Sarah did an amazing job playing at my wedding ceremony in Wilmington! She was professional and prompt in all her communication, and she even learned a new piece of music that we wanted to be played at our ceremony. She was wonderful to work with and very talented! Do not hesitate to book her for any cellist needs you may have!
She did great. She was on time very friendly and professional!
We had Sarah as a solo cellist for our wedding! She did amazing. She played beautifully, the ceremony went so smoothly and she was so professional. It has been a dream of mine to have a solo cellist at our wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Thank you so much, Sarah!
Sarah is wonderful
Sarah added such lovely ambiance to my wedding. I highly recommend her!
I am so happy and fortunate to have found Sarah for my daughter's wedding!
Leading up to the event, Sarah was extremely responsive to questions, and was very proactive in helping to plan the ceremony and cocktail hour music. The day of activities were perfect. The trios' arrival occurred well in advance of the scheduled time. Personally, I felt that the music provided was perfect for the event, playing a great mix of classical and pop selections. As wedding guests thanked us for the great ceremony and party, we received MANY comments specifically directed towards the great touch of elegance the trio added to the day! If you are having a tough time selecting musicians, I'd recommend you look no further and book Sarah before somebody else does!!! You will not be disappointed!!!
Sarah and Christa Faison were an awesome duo. They worked very well with our vocalist who they had never met and made the entire event effortless. They communicated with the vocalist independently and took that off our shoulders. Sarah was prompt in her responses and very professional as well as being punctual. They played beautifully, we were very pleased. It was an awesome experience.
Sarah Stoloff performed as cello soloist with Mizpah Congregation's choir and organ arrangement of Kol Nidre. She was professional in every way. Her playing was beautiful and well received.

My typical setup at events simply requires a chair and spot to play. My instrument rarely requires additional amplification or props from the consumer. Repertoire for your event will be pre-determined based on your needs or I will establish an appropriate program that will be suitable for your event.
At a wedding, I typically provide 15-30 minutes of prelude music as your guests are seated. I will follow a program that we determine beforehand so that the music and all aspects of your ceremony flow smoothly together. It is also typical that music is played for a brief recessional as guests leave your event. I am also available to play for a cocktail hour but, depending on your setup, this may require amplification. I am happy to play indoor or outdoor weddings but would be unable to expose my instrument to rain if adverse weather interrupts the event. If you are unsure of what music you would like during your ceremony, I am happy to help you with these decisions.
Please feel free to inquire with me about any type of event to discuss music and pricing. I look forward to talking with you!
I have been playing cello for 16 years and was raised amongst a family of musicians. I studied throughout college at the University of Tennessee and at UNCW, am a member of the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra, teach students new to cello, and play events such as galas, weddings, and funerals throughout the year. I am a solo cellist and have access to string ensembles made up of the traditional two violins, viola, and cello or classical guitar. I have studied under renowned cellists in the southeastern parts of the country and participated in competitive orchestra and workshop trainings throughout my schooling. Though I work in the health field, I aim to keep music alive in both my life and in the community. I am classically trained but have experience playing pop music and other alternative genres on cello. I would be happy to discuss your event needs with you and can offer suggestions for program music if needed.
I will require arm-less chair(s) and depending on details of your event, amplification might be necessary. These needs can be easily addressed and resolved!
