Hi! I am an experienced pianist. I specialize in classical repertoire, but am also proficient at playing jazz piano. I am also skilled at composing music, giving lessons, and even singing. I have directed musicals, provided background music for events, given lessons in both piano and in voice, and am confident that I can meet a very wide variety of your musical needs. You'll find that I'm easy to work with and dependable!

Piano Music: I have studied and performed baroque, classical, romantic, post-romantic, and contemporary styles of music in the "artmusic" tradition. I have also studied and performed jazz music and musical theater.
Liturgical/Wedding music: I have played music for numerous ceremonial services (especially Roman Catholic masses) and work well with MCs, event planners, and other musicians.
Accompaniment: I am experienced in accompanying vocalists and instrumentalists for juries, state solo/ensemble competitions, and recitals. Should the need arise, I can play on a piano, organ, harpsichord, or electric keyboard.
Composition: I am currently involved in writing the score for a play that will be performed in Chicago this October. I have also arranged the score for a musical theater pit orchestra. I am skilled in using Finale notation software and have a number of compositions (some finished, some in the works) in my portfolio.
Lessons: I am qualified to give lessons in piano (classical, jazz, blues, rock, etc.), voice, and musical composition. I've been giving various kinds of lessons for about 8 years and am committed to finding more and more effective ways to facilitate learning.
Choir: As co-director of the newly christened University of St. Thomas Alumni Choir, I am qualified to rehearse choirs should their regular director require a substitute. So far, we have performed both sacred and secular works from the 20th-century onward, but both myself and my co-directors have studied and conducted older works as well.
My set list comes from a variety of sources. I can play showtunes, jazz standards, classical standards, accompaniments, wedding music, or whatever else a hiring patron desires. If I don't know it, I can learn it, and I guarantee satisfaction.
