Planning a wedding? Hosting a birthday party for 20? I'm a singer/songwriter with a large variety of material that can be catered to any crowd. In addition to my own material, I pull from a songlist that spans many decades and genres. We can work together to create the perfect music for your event.
My emphasis is on picking the right songs for your event! I customize songlists to the event and audience. I also encourage requests (when appropriate) & know when and how to engage an audience to keep them entertained. I've worked really hard to get it right for previous clients & I'll work really hard to get it right for you!
Perfect for our event! Great voice, great musician!
Shreep came to play at a 35 person party. His music was amazing, he took song request, and he was great at communicating from beginning to end. We will definately recommend him to everyone and will be using him in the future.
We hired Shreeps to perform at my 30th birthday party for about 60 people. He was an absolute pleasure to work with from beginning to end. He was very professional, extremely responsive, and showed up early/stayed late.
His talent is phenomenal and his range of songs made it so that he could accommodate any request. Shreeps even learned a new song for me beforehand by special request. He kept the atmosphere fun, light and relaxed, at let guests take the mic and sing along with him at times. Numerous people told us his performance "made the night" and we agree it certainly did!
His rates make him an extremely good value. We will definitely hire Shreeps out again for our next event.
What a wonderful night! Shreeps is not only talented with beautiful original music and cool renditions, but he is also so engaging. My guests enjoyed his outgoing personality and appreciated his inviting us to come up and sing our favorite songs with him. Looking forward to other events where we can enjoy his special talent!

I provide live music (guitar & voice), but am not limited to a certain type of party, room, age or demopgraphic. I've built a large vocabulary of songs that range from the 1960's to today's Top 40. You name it --- The Beatles to Bruno Mars.....Santana to Sam Cooke...Cat Stevens to Coldplay.
I've been singing since I was a child & playing guitar almost as long. I continue to study guitar & voice to this day & feel very comfortable in my ability doing both. I provide professional quality musicianship, performance, & sound reinforcement --- to sum up. :)

Shreepal Zala (a.k.a. Shreeps) was born in New Hampshire to East Indian immigrants who arrived in the States in the early 1970s. His parents settled Philadelphia suburb where Shreeps grew up listening to a melting pot of music from classical Indian singers to pop albums like Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'. Once he discovered The Beatles & other British Invasion bands, Shreeps began singing nonstop & was soon featured in his school's choir & a cappella group. He began accumulating records of his favorite artists at the time like Eric Clapton, Pink Floyd, R.E.M., Counting Crows & The Police.
Shreeps first picked up a guitar towards the end of high school and continued playing and singing through college at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Being the son of non-musicians (doctors, actually), Shreeps had little inclination or encouragement at the time to pursue music as a career & graduated from Emory in 2003 with a B.A. in Economics. Nonetheless, he was part of the school's accomplished a cappella group, No Strings Attached, and helped direct the group for two years after graduating. After a brief stint in the business world, Shreeps turned his love affair with music into his life's work. He studied guitar at the Atlanta Institute of Music and then immersed himself in the Atlanta music scene. He cites many influences to his guitar playing — Clapton, David Gilmour, Mike Campbell (of the Heartbreakers), Jerry Garcia, Dickey Betts, Mike Einziger (of Incubus) to name a few. He mentions The Beatles, particularly John Lennon, amongst his top songwriting influences as well as other notables like Paul Simon, Adam Duritz, & Peter Gabriel. His vocal style has a markedly dynamic range. On the softer side, it sits somewhere between Paul Simon and Damien Rice while the sandpaper side of his voice hints at a Van Morrison rasp or an amped-up Tom Petty
Since turning to music as a career, Shreeps has built a slate of regular gigs---playing venues, events, weddings, and independently releasing his first studio EP, Avondale Escape in 2013.

These links are not complete as I add new songs regularly. Please don't hesitate to ask. If I have adequate time to prepare, I can usually get several requests learned for you by your event date.
I also offer instrumental versions of any songs you see here or would like to request. Please make sure to let me know in advance so we can discuss the songs and the preparation necessary - some songs require much more preparation than others.
I once heard an interview with Chase Utley (who plays second base on my favorite baseball team) where he said his father once told him, 'Chase, if you're good at what you do, you won't have to tell people how good you are; they'll do it for you'. I always thought this quote was great, especially in an Internet age steeped in hyperbole. So, instead of trying to tell you about what I do in my own words, I'd just like to share several reviews from previous clients. The majority of these reviews are from an online booking service that is very similar to GigSalad. You can also find more under the Weddings & Events tab on my website at (link hidden).
"We only rated Shreeps with 5 stars because they didn't have more! He not only met but exceeded all expectations. He was incredibly personable and professional from beginning to end and read our crowd perfectly. He was absolutely the highlight of our party - EVERYONE was so impressed with his talent and versatility. Rest assured when you book Shreeps that you're hiring a very talented, professional musician who will undeniably deliver and "wow" your guests - whatever the event may be. We cannot give a higher recommendation and look forward to having him back - even if its for no occasion at all - he's THAT great! " - Melissa H (Birthday Party, Sharpsburg, GA)
"We could not have chosen a more perfect artist for our welcome reception/ dinner party. We left the music selections to Shreeps, and he nailed it! Our guests ranged in age from late teens to early 60s and all LOVED the music. The sound was crystal clear, and Shreeps wide range of talent was amazing. We were especially impressed with his communication and flexibility throughout the whole process. He arrived early for setup, and actually stayed a little longer than was scheduled. Thank you Shreeps for an unforgettable evening. We will definitely be recommending you with the highest regards." - Sherry T (Rehearsal Dinner, Ritz-Carlton at Reynolds Plantation, Oconee, GA)
"Shreeps was fantastic - completely cool with accomodating our changing event schedule, he was fun to talk to and most importantly....he is a fantastic guitar player\singer with a very broad range of songs\styles. Everyone loved him. Would absolutely recommend him to friends, family, etc... Thanks Shreeps!" - Joe G (Birthday Party, Roswell, GA)
"Shreeps played at the Ritz Carlton downtown Atlanta for my wedding's cocktail hour and he was fantastic! He was professional with the set up, played EXACTLY the music and vibe I was looking for, and created a mood everyone enjoyed. Everything seems hard when planning a wedding, thankfully, working with Shreeps was the easiest part! I would most certainly recommend him to any of my friends for their wedding or party!" -Claire Finley (Wedding Cocktail Hour, Ritz-Carlton Downtown, Atlanta, GA)
"Shreeps played the music at our wedding and everything about it was absolutely fantastic. Working with Shreeps for our wedding was a joy. He has so many songs in his repertoire that coming up with the perfect playlist was effortless. When my wife and I decided that we didn’t want a conventional song for our first dance, Shreeps learned the song we picked and played it beautifully. Shreeps is not only a brilliantly talented artist, he is a consummate professional. I will undoubtedly use Shreeps again, and give a wholehearted recommendation to all of my friends." -Blair&David Hart (Wedding Reception, Feast Restaurant, Decatur, GA)
I use a Bose LI Tower PA for my main sound system. I also have a modular powered Mackie speaker setup that I use for bigger gigs. I have some ambient lighting, but no stage show yet! :)

If you don't see something you want to hear, just mention it. I may already know it & if not, I'm almost always up for learning it!
