Kimberly C. Gaines is an arts administrative professional with a background in film, photography, arts education and development. Ms. Gaines is an alumna of Howard University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in film. Kimberly also has a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design.
Kimberly has facilitated projects and workshops for youth with NBC 4, the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the Smithsonian’s Latino Center, Hirshhorn, National Portrait Gallery, National Museum of Natural History and the 2014 Black Women’s Roundtable.

Kimberly C. Gaines is an arts administrative professional with a background in film, photography, arts education and development. Ms. Gaines is an alumna of Howard University where she received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with an emphasis in film. Kimberly also has a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Savannah College of Art and Design. She is an American Association of University Women (AAUW) member and fellow alum.
Kimberly has taught photography and design to youth in urban areas for over ten years with a focus on young women and identity. Her educational and non-profit experience has included media empowerment facilitation for youth and adults, curriculum development and management. Kimberly has also facilitated projects and workshops for youth with NBC 4, the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the Smithsonian’s Latino Center, Hirshhorn, National Portrait Gallery, National Museum of Natural History and the 2014 Black Women’s Roundtable.
In 2009, Kimberly was selected to participate in a World Learning Visitor Exchange Program with an U.S. delegation to Denmark. She toured the country with bilingual community-based organizations as part of an outreach and integration program of marginalized youth populations around Denmark. In 2012, Kimberly was co-producer and creative director for a $75,000 ArtPlace Temporium Grant awarded to create the DeanwoodxDesign project. The five month event brought arts and entertainment to the Washington DC Ward 7 community. She is confident that the arts can create more exciting opportunities to build and develop solutions to our community challenges.
