The Decades Band with Austin's own Diane Tropea on vocals and Don Hubbard on lead & rhythm guitar, provide lively multi decade multi genre cover songs from the 1940's through current. Because we're multi decade and genre we can adapt the music to your exact events theme and decade needs, rather than playing just one or two genres and decades. It also makes our music more enjoyable for audiences because there is something for every music taste.
They had our guests clapping and even dancing!
I would hire them again.
Just heard this band in Florence at the Vineyard! They were amazing! Her vocals were excellent and his guitar playing was incredible! The variety of songs were so familiar and it sounded so good! Would highly recommend them!
Response from The Decades Band:
Thanks Laura,
We always have a great time at The Vineyard At Florance, glad you were able to come out for the Grape Stomp. If you are at another of our gigs in the future, please come by the bandstand and say hello, I'll hold a performance CD for you.
Best Regards
Don & Diane

Who Are We
Diane Tropea & Don Hubbard have been performing all around the Austin area since 2016. Diane has been singing since early childhood, did some LA touring in her college days, and lives and works in Hill Country north of Austin. Her vocals are superb and one of those must hear voices. Diane also performs regularly with the 18-piece Big Band (Not Past 11) out of Georgetown Texas.
Don Hubbard plays lead and rhythm guitar and provides backup vocals for The Decades Band. He is retired Navy and has worked for the past 15 years for the State of Texas. In addition to playing regular acoustic and electric guitar, he plays multiple guitar-synth lead instruments to add variety to the music. Using synth instruments allows adding additional instruments without requiring more band members, which in turn keeps our prices low. During any given song you may hear any number of lead instruments, including Sax, Trombone, Piano, Organ, Trumpet, Vibes, Clarinet, Flute, Harmonica, or Accordion.
Experience
Though we're new to 'Gigsalad', we have performed over 500 public and private gigs providing our unique mix of music genres and decades for corporate events, weddings, anniversaries, festivals, benefits, and dance parties. Our music might be cocktail hour background music one minute and quickly switch to lively raise-the-roof dance music the next. We are among the most flexible bands when it comes to adapting our music to your event.
Verifiable Bookings
Though we are still developing our presence on 'Gigsalad' we have over 500 gigs and over 50 scheduled so far in 2023. For confidence building, we would be happy to put you in touch with the GM's and Owners of some of the venues so you can confirm our reputation. Or, you can check our performance calendar and drop by to hear us at one of our upcoming public gigs. If you come to see us, please drop by the stage area and chat with us.
How would we describe our sound?
If you walked into a venue where we are playing with a blindfold on, you would probably assume we are a 4-6 piece band. We have carefully created a sound that is much richer and larger than a typical duo band. We are therefore able to offer you a big band sound at a smaller band price. As for how audiences and venues judge us, please don't take our word for it. We encourage you to take a careful listen to our sample music, contact our references, or better yet, come see us live and chat with us when we go on break.
PLEASE BOOK EARLY TO LOCK IN YOUR EVENT DATE ON OUR CALENDAR.
