Westchester Party Rentals and Entertainment

First , I want to say I was hesitant to post a review at all because my daughter’s wedding was a great experience and we had a blast. However , I know weddings are expensive and people deserve to have an accurate description of what they are spending their money on.

The Magic Mirror was a good addition, but I would not hire this company again. Ben came dressed in a crew neck sweatshirt and jeans to a black tie wedding. We understand it was February and admittedly cold , but this was unprofessional. We did not expect him to be wearing a tux , but at least slacks and shirt. Additionally he was a little late for set up ( a major road nearby was closed for a major construction project ). As guests were arriving he was engaged in a prolonged conversation with the event coordinator about the area where he was supposed to set up. The conversation was ridiculous and becoming something that guests were taking note of , so I stepped in. This annoyed me to no end because NO other vendor had an issue. When I told him he was late and creating a scene that was disruptive, his response was he was “there within 20 minutes” of the time he was supposed to have arrived. As my husband pointed out to me , if he had never worked at this venue in particular, he should have made it his business to be there earlier to insure there were no set up issues or concerns. We had one other vendor who was a first timer at the venue and they came early because they knew they were unfamiliar with the venue and wanted to make sure they were ready on time. Seems like common sense.

During the 30 minute ceremony he was able to set up , but never changed his clothes. Again - jeans and a sweatshirt for someone who was hired to work a wedding. The guests enjoyed the magic mirror, but I believe the fact that I got angry with his behavior hampered how he interacted with the guests and family the rest of the evening. He basically sat in a chair and didn’t interact. I was all over and did not see him move much to assist people. His wife accompanied him and did interact with guests. I will also say that when I finally did use the mirror , he ignored me overall which I was fine with.

I left an email for the booking manager for the company because I wanted to just give some feedback , but instead of the call back I requested from “Dave” I received a phone call from Ben. I requested the call from the booking department because I felt it would be a good addition to specify clothing in the contract ( my other vendors all indicated this is theirs and I missed that it wasn’t in this one and that’s completely my fault ). Yet, I didn’t think that a professional would show up so under dressed for an event they were paid for.

Again , for some these might seem like minor complaints. However for us, this event meant the world and we worked hard to give our “kids” a beautiful day. To have someone treat us with disdain and disregard , when the issues were preventable (lateness, clothing) was so disheartening.

The magic mirror was fun and guests loved it , I would just encourage you to be VERY specific about what you expect or select another company altogether.

Ben did an amazing job! The frame booth was a huge hit—gorgeous, large and interactive. The frame looks so beautiful and everyone loved the experience. The photos look so clear and bright too!
