Professional, mature, reliable. Able to play over three hours of beautiful original jazz-tinted soft rock music without repeating a song. Very flexible when it comes to coordinating with the host's or emcee's program schedules, and can provide a public address system if needed (1000-watts). I require very little footprint (space in which to work), about 6' x 5' will do. I can wear a tux if it matters, or jeans and a polo shirt if it doesn't.
I am a composer/songwriter of many decades, having performed in bands on and off since the late seventies. I was always able to showcase my writing because much of it works seamlessly with a set list of popular songs. My style crosses genres, but it works well when arranged as "ambient" music and played at functions where the performance needs to be atmospheric, esoteric, mood-inducing and/or sublime. There are pieces of pop, rock, jazz, AOR, ballads, lullabies and epic pomp.
I CAN sing and I DO sing - mostly my original songs but also some popular songs as well. My focus for GigSalad is this quintessential ability for instrumental piano that is received so well and is featured on my recent CD "Elevator". Most songs are usually performed with subtle MIDI accompaniment (it's in the piano).
I have played many venues in the Tampa Bay and surrounding areas, including the Safety Harbor Spa, the Dunedin Fine Arts Center, Spartan Manor (New Port Richey), the Renaissance Hotel Sea World (Orlando), Clearwater Hotel (Clearwater Beach), and many adult living facilities, private businesses and charities.
I ran out of room for "Your Influences". I have nothing for this category.
Songs of note:
Here's Looking at You
All Fall Down
Forever in My Heart (wedding song)
Wonderful
Forsaken Heart
A Part of Life
...and so many more.
From classical to Pop, from whimsical to alternative, I enjoy most kinds of music. My works bear some resemblance to George Winston I am told. "Waters without Gilmour" was another comment I appreciated. I am quite proud that my songs, while melodic and different from each other, are not derivative of any artist, therefore difficult to categorize. Definite influences: Motown, Bach, Rachmaninoff, Spike Jones, most sixties bands with harmonies - Beatles, Stones, Simon and Garfunkel, CSNY. But I did not become fixated on the music of my adolescence, but continued to appreciate modern musicality. INXS, Sting, STP, Nanci Griffith, even Madonna and Adele. I think I do them all justice.
A 110 volt outlet.
