SHAPIRO PROJECT

EUGENE SHAPIRO is a guitarist, composer, arranger, educator and the bandleader of the Las Vegas based jazz group called the Shapiro Project.

EUGENE SHAPIRO holds Master's Degree in Jazz Studies from University of Nevada, Las Vegas and currently teaches guitar at the College of Southern Nevada. He also has been performing music for more than 20 years. EUGENE is a member of ASCAP and is endorsed by the Thomastik - Infeld strings, by Martin Guitars, and also by Radial Engineering Ltd. He has received several awards from Nevada Arts Council, including two Nevada Artist Fellowships, numerous ASCAPLUS Jazz and Pop Awards, and honorable mention in the Billboard Songwriting Contest.

EUGENE SHAPIRO has released 2 CD's with his own compositions recorded by his band the Shapiro Project on Las Vegas Record Label TNC Music Recordings. The Shapiro Project has participated in such renown Festivals as Spirit of Music Festival in San Francisco, California, Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival in Moscow, Idaho, International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) in Los Angeles, California and Fremont Street Jazz Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada.

EUGENE SHAPIRO has shared the stages with many renown musicians, among them Michel Legrand, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Sandy Duncan, Walt Weiskopf, Buddy Greco, Giggs Whigham and Carl Fontana.

In Las Vegas EUGENE SHAPIRO and the Shapiro Project have played in all major Hotels and Casinos such as Venetian Hotel and Casino, Paris Hotel and Casino, Bellagio, Caesars Palace, Mirage Hotel and Casino, Mandalay Bay, and Green Valley Ranch.

Corporate and Private Events:
The usual instrumentation is Trio: Guitar, Keyboards, and Drums (or Guitar, Bass, and Drums), and Quartet: Guitar, Keyboards, Drums, and Saxophone (or Guitar, Bass, Drums, and Saxophone), but other instruments can be added, such as Trumpet. Shapiro Project also works with a male and female vocalists. Other instruments can be added upon the request from the client. Shapiro Project can also be downsized to a Guitar / Keyboards (Guitar / Bass) Duo and even a Guitar Solo (the styles for Guitar Solo are Classical, Jazz, Flamenco, Pop/Rock).

EUGENE SHAPIRO and the Shapiro Project specialize in background music for corporate and private events, such as Conventions, Cocktail Receptions, Conferences, Meetings, Parties, Weddings, Dinners, Award Ceremonies, Birthday Parties, and other special events, and also for the main featured performance / entertainment. The group adopts easily to any room and is very sensitive to clients needs such as volume, breaks, repertoire, etc.

EUGENE SHAPIRO and the Shapiro Project plays Jazz ( traditional and contemporary, standards and originals ), Latin Jazz, Jazz-rock/Fusion/Funk, and also some Blues, R&B and other danceable music.
We also have a specialprogram of hip Jazzy arrangements of Rock, Pop, and R&Btunes. EUGENE SHAPIRO and the band will also perform any song requested in advance by the client. We are responsible, reliable, easy to work with and the band grooves!

We have played many, many Weddings in Las Vegas (and outside) and we will be happy to play yours. Whether music for the Ceremony, for the Reception, or both, the Shapiro Project is your Best Choice for the Great Music for your Wedding.

For the Ceremony, Bridal Chorus (Wagner), Wedding March (Mendelssohn), Cannon in D (Pachelbel), Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach), Ave Maria (Gounod/Bach or Schubert), and many, many others will be performed.

For the Jewish Wedding, you can be sure to hear Hava Nagila, Y'did Nefesh, Jerusalem of Gold, Erev Shel Shoshanim, Od Yishama, Kozatske, Am Israel Chai, Hora Mamtera, Siman Tov, and many, many others.

You can also Customize Music for your Ceremony, including the Instrumentation, making it even more Special. We can perform Instrumentally and we also work with a Female Vocalist Lynae Michele if you'd like to have a singer for your Special Day.

For the Reception, we will perform ANY First Dance song, Father/Daughter Dance and so on requested in advance. Anything from, for example "The Way You Look Tonight," "Unforgettable," "At Last," "Fly Me to the Moon," When You Wish Upon a Star," "Blue Moon," Over the Rainbow," "Stormy Weather," "Witchcraft," "It Had to Be You," and "Till there Was You," to ANY song/songs you request in advance. We have a huge amount of Great Repertoire we perform for the Wedding Reception that will make you Happy. You are assured to hear Great, Jazzy, Groovy, Exciting, Romantic and Energetic Music at your Reception. You'll also be able to Customize the Instrumentation for your Reception.
