5-Minute Drum Lessons

A fun activity for all ages! A professional drummer guides beginning drummers through their first drum beats or lets the experienced drummer "tear it up" on their own.

Since electronic drum sets are very portable, they can be used during all sorts of events from birthday parties to county fairs, city festivals, and more.

Electronic drums are lightweight and since they don't take up a lot of space, they can be used virtually everywhere, indoors or out.

For outdoor events, covered areas near electricity are best, but if you don't have one or the other, I've got you covered. I can provide shade from the elements or my own electricity source for an extra fee.

It takes about an hour to get set up and about an hour to tear it down (longer if I am providing my own tent).

Space Requirements:
- You provide the shelter: 8' x 8'
- I provide a tent: 12' x 12'

Electrical Requirements:
- You provide the 120V electricity and extension cord (no charge)
- I provide portable electricity (extra fee)

Sound Reinforcement:
- Headphones so only the drummer can hear (included)
- Small P.A. system so everybody can hear (extra fee, plus you provide two 120V outlets and extension cords)

Duration:
You choose the time of day and the length of time that fits your event. Maybe your party is only 2 hours long or perhaps it's an all-day event. Either way, you're covered.

Bonus Benefits:
- This activity is led by a woman drummer, who can act as a great role model for young girls who might otherwise hear that "drumming isn't for girls". Drumming and music are meant for everybody to enjoy.

Photo Op:
- For "high-end" special events, a mock-up of a real stage can be created for a photo memory to last a lifetime.

There's not much better in this world than sharing the joy of music, especially giving a child the opportunity to try an instrument out for the first time. Plus, who doesn't think drums are cool?

My name is Kelli Rae Tubbs and I am a professional musician, clinician, and bandleader who thought it would be a great idea to bring my passion for music to kids who have never played an instrument. You should see the smiles on the faces of the kids who give it a try. Some are gung-ho and some are shy, but they're all curious about it.

I had the idea to offer this as a service to the GigSalad community and hope you will think it is as much fun as I do.

This activity works best on level paved or grassy surfaces with shelter from the sun/rain near a 120V outlet. (For an extra fee, I can provide a portable "sail" overhead cover and my own source of electricity.)

There are no special requirements for lighting, staging, or sound, as this is a fully-contained activity.

For festivals and other events, suitable parking arrangements must be met.
