1. Introduction
The Gig Bureau, LLC d/b/a GigSalad, a Delaware limited liability company (“GigSalad,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
This policy applies to information we collect:
- by way of the www.gigsalad.com website (the “Site”);
- by way of the downloadable GigSalad mobile software application (the “App”);
- by way of all other products or services offered by GigSalad;
- in email, text, and other electronic messages between you and GigSalad; and
- when you interact with our advertising and applications on third-party websites and services, if those applications or ads include links to this policy.
The Site, the App, and all other products or services offered by GigSalad are hereafter referred to collectively as the “Services.”
This policy does not apply to information collected by:
- us offline or through any other means, including on any other website operated by a third party (including our affiliates and subsidiaries); or
- any third party (including our affiliates and subsidiaries), including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or on the Site.
Please read this policy carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our Services. By accessing or using our Services, you agree to this privacy policy. This policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of this Website after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check the policy periodically for updates.
The section titled “Additional Privacy Information for Certain Jurisdictions” below provides information about our compliance with applicable privacy laws in other jurisdictions (“Applicable Privacy Laws”).

2. Children Under the Age of 13
Our Services are not intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected or received personal information from a child under 13, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information from or about a child under 13, please contact us right away.
3. Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It
Types of Information Collected. We collect several types of information from and about users of our Services, including the following types of information:
- Identifiers: This may include your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, Social Security Number (“SSN”) (to the extent your SSN is provided on a Form W-9), and IP address.
- Commercial information: This may include your employer, bank account number, credit or debit card number, and other financial information needed to authorize payments and facilitate distributions.
- Internet or other electronic network activity: This may include your usage details, device information, IP address, and similar information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.
- Audio, electronic, visual, or similar information: This may include videos, audio, and photographs uploaded to the Services.
- Sensitive personal information: This may include your SSN (to the extent your SSN is provided on a Form W-9). We may also collect union membership info that you upload to your PromoKit.
Sources of Information Collection. We collect such information:
- directly from you when you provide it to us;
- automatically as you navigate through the Services (including usage details, device information, IP address, and similar information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies); and
- from third parties, for example, our business partners and service providers.
Information You Provide to Us. The information we collect on or through our Services may include the following information provided to us by you:
- Information that you provide by filling in forms on our Services. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our Services, subscribing to our Services, posting material, or requesting further Services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us, or when you report a problem or complaint relative to our Services.
- Records and copies of your correspondences (including email addresses), if you contact us.
- Your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes.
- Details of transactions you carry out through our Services and of the fulfillment of your orders. You may be required to provide financial information before placing an order through our Services.
- Your search queries within the Services.
Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies. As you navigate through and interact with our Services, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:
- details of your visits to our Services, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the Services; and
- information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.
The information we collect automatically is statistical data and may include personal information, or we may maintain it or associate it with personal information we collect in other ways or receive from third parties. It helps us to improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:
- estimate our user base size and usage patterns;
- store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize our Services according to your individual interests;
- speed up your searches; and
- recognize you when you return to our Services.
The technologies we use for such automatic data collection may include:
- Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed within the web browser of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Services. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Services.
- Web Beacons and Pixels. Portions of our Services and our e-mails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit the Company, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity). The information collected in this manner is generally anonymous and not personally identifiable. We also work with service providers and advertising partners that use tracking pixels and similar tools to collect information about your visits to our Site and your behavior while on the Site. This information may be used by those third parties to deliver targeted advertisements to you across the internet based, at least in part, on your usage of our Site. We only employ these sorts of tracking pixels for users who have logged into their account with us.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any personal information:
- to provide our Services to you;
- to provide you information about our Services;
- to fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it;
- to communicate with you and provide notices about your account/subscription, including expiration and renewal notices;
- to carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing, payment, and collection;
- to notify you about changes to our Services;
- to allow you to participate in interactive features on our Services;
- to analyze and improve our Services and to deliver a better and more personalized service;
- in any other way we may describe when you provide the information; or
- for any other purpose with your consent.
We may also use your information to contact you about our own and third-parties’ goods and services that may be of interest to you. If you do not want us to use your information in this way, please adjust your user preferences in your account profile. We may use the information we have collected from you to enable us to display advertisements to our advertisers’ target audiences. Even though we do not disclose your personal information for these purposes without your consent, if you click on or otherwise interact with an advertisement, the advertiser may assume that you meet its target criteria.
5. Disclosure of Your Information
We may disclose aggregated information about our users, and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.
We may disclose personal information that we collect or you provide as described in this privacy policy:
- to our subsidiaries and affiliates;
- to contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business;
- to any buyer or other successor in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of GigSalad’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which personal information held by GigSalad about our users is among the assets transferred;
- to third parties to market their products or services to you if you have not opted out of these disclosures (for more information, see “Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information” below);
- to fulfill the purpose for which you provide it;
- for any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information; or
- with your consent.
We may also disclose your personal information:
- to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request;
- to enforce or apply our Global Terms of Service for GigSalad Services, Terms of Service for Trademark Dispute System, and other agreements, including for billing, payment, and collection purposes;
- in the process of processing, reviewing, or acting upon any notification or complaint we receive alleging infringement or violation of someone’s trademark rights, copyright interests, or other intellectual property rights; or
- if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of GigSalad, our customers, or others.
6. Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information
We strive to provide you with choices regarding the personal information you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with the following control over your information:
- Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of this site may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
- Promotional Offers from the Company. If you do not wish to have your email address/contact information used by the Company to promote our own or third parties’ products or services, you can opt-out by checking the relevant box located on the form on which we collect your data or at any other time by logging into the Services and adjusting your user preferences in your account profile by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes or by sending us an email stating your request to help@gigsalad.com. If we have sent you a promotional email, you may click the unsubscribe link to opt out of all future email distributions. This opt out does not apply to information provided to GigSalad as a result of a purchase of Services, product service experience or other transactions with GigSalad.
As described in the Additional Privacy Information for Certain Jurisdictions section below, some persons may have additional data subject rights.
7. Deletion of Your Personal Information
If you have an account with us, you have the ability to edit or delete most of the personal information you have shared with us directly from your account settings page. If you would like us to delete your profile entirely or need help with deleting specific personal information that we maintain about you, then you can contact us via the Site or by email at help@gigsalad.com with a deletion request. After verifying your request, we will delete the Personal information we maintain about you from our records as of the date of your request and to the fullest extent practicable. If we have questions regarding your request, you must make an effort to respond to our inquiries. If we do not understand your request, we may not be able to comply. Please note that certain information may be excepted from your deletion request. For example, we may keep your information where necessary to detect and resolve issues related to system security and fraud detection.
We will also keep information needed to provide any Services you have purchased through the Site. For example, if you ask us to delete your Personal information, but have paid for a listing through a certain period, we will keep the information related to that listing until it expires in case you change your mind. Additionally, we cannot control whether other users of our Services have stored a copy of Personal information from the profile you created that would allow them to locate and contact you even after we have deleted the personal information from our records.
8. Additional Privacy Information for Certain Jurisdictions
If you are a resident of California, please review our California “Notice at Collection” provided in Subsection A below. Subsection B includes additional information about your privacy rights under applicable California privacy laws.
If you are a resident of another jurisdiction that has enacted an applicable privacy law, please review Subsection C below for additional information about your privacy rights under those privacy laws.
A. California Notice at Collection
This Notice provides California residents with information about our collection, use, and disclosure of their personal information. Please reference the other sections of the privacy policy for more information about our privacy practices.
This Notice is provided pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as modified by the California Privacy Rights Act of 2020 (collectively the “CCPA”), and should be read in conjunction with this policy.
Collection, Use, and Disclosure of Personal Information
Personal information categorized as: identifiers. For example, this may include your name, postal address, e-mail address, telephone number, SSN, and Internet Protocol address.
Purpose, use, and/or disclosure of identifiers:
- To provide our Services and their contents to you. In some instances, we disclose this information to third parties for this purpose.
- To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us.
- To communicate with you and provide notices about your account/subscription, including expiration and renewal notices;
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing, payment, and collection.
- To notify you about changes to our Services.
- To carry out other specific disclosed purposes that you have consented to.
Personal information categorized as: commercial information. For example, this may include your employer, bank account number, credit or debit card number, and other financial information needed to authorize payments and facilitate distributions.
Purpose, use, and/or disclosure of commercial information:
- To provide our Services and their contents to you.
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing, payment, and collection.
Personal information categorized as: internet or other electronic network activity. For example, this may include your usage details, device information, IP address, and similar information collected through cookies, web beacons, and other tracking technologies.
Purpose, use, and/or disclosure of internet or other electronic network activity:
- To provide our Services and their contents to you.
- To allow you to participate in interactive features on our Service.
- To provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us. In some instances, we disclose this information to third parties for this purpose.
- To analyze the performance of our Services. In some instances, we disclose this information to third parties for this purpose.
- To improve and personalize our Services. In some instances, we disclose this information to third parties for this purpose.
Personal information categorized as: audio, electronic, visual, or similar information. For example, this may include your videos, audio, and photos that you voluntarily upload to the Services.
Purpose, use, and/or disclosure of audio, electronic, visual, or similar information:
- To provide our Services and their contents to you.
Personal information categorized as: sensitive personal Information. For example, this may include your SSN (to the extent this information is included in your W-9). We may also collect union membership info that you upload to your PromoKit.
Purpose, use, and/or disclosure of sensitive personal Information:
- To provide our Services and their contents to you.
- To carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing, payment, and collection.
Selling and Sharing of Personal Information
As described above, GigSalad does engage in disclosures of personal information to our business customers. Under the CCPA, some of these disclosures qualify as “sales.” We may also share information with third-party advertising partners for the purpose of promoting our Services as described above, such as for targeted advertising. We do not have actual knowledge of any “sale” of personal information of minors under 16 years of age.
You may limit our sale or sharing of your personal information by contacting us or following the instructions found below in the section titled “Exercising Your Rights.”
Retention of Personal Information
We maintain the categories of personal information described above for as long as is necessary for the purposes described in this Notice or as otherwise authorized by law. This generally means holding the information for as long as one of the following apply:
- Your personal information is reasonably necessary to manage our operations, to manage your relationship with us, or to satisfy another purpose for which we collected the information;
- Your personal information is reasonably necessary to carry out a disclosed purpose that is reasonably compatible with the context in which the personal information was collected;
- Your personal information is reasonably required to protect or defend our rights or property, which will generally relate to applicable laws that limit actions in a particular case; or
- We are otherwise required or permitted to keep your personal information by applicable laws or regulations.
Where personal information is used for more than one purpose, we will retain it until the purpose with the latest period expires.
B. Additional Information for California Residents
The categories of and the sources from which we collect personal information vary based on our relationship or interaction with a specific California resident and the business purpose for which the personal information is collected. Please reference the “Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It” section for more information about these practices. Details regarding how we may share your personal information is available in the “Disclosure of Your Information” section above.
California Consumer Rights
Subject to certain exceptions, as a California resident, you have the following rights to your personal information:
Right to Know and Access: Request access to your personal information that we have collected, used, disclosed, or sold about you, including:
- The categories of personal information we have collected about you, including:
- The categories of sources from which the personal information was collected;
- Our business or commercial purposes for collecting or disclosing personal information;
- The categories of recipients to which we disclose personal information; and
- The categories of personal information that we disclosed for a business purpose, and for each category identified, the categories of recipients to which we disclosed that particular category of personal information; or
- The specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
Right to Deletion: Request deletion of your personal information that we collected from you and retained, subject to certain limitations. If you ask to delete your personal information, we will respect your request and delete your personal information, subject to certain exceptions provided by law, such as but not limited to:
- Completion of the transaction for which we collected the personal information, provision of a good or service that you requested, taking actions reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise performing our contract with you.
- Detection of security incidents, protection against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity, or prosecution of those responsible for such activities.
- Exercising free speech to ensure the right of another consumer to exercise their free speech rights, or exercising another right provided for by law.
- Compliance with the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (Cal. Penal Code 1546 seq.).
- Compliance with a legal obligation.
- Making other internal and lawful uses of that information that are compatible with the context in which you provided it.
Right to Correction: You have the right to request that we correct personal information we maintain about you that you believe is inaccurate.
Right to Opt-out of Sales and Sharing: You have the right to opt-out of your personal information being shared for purposes of targeted advertising.
Right to Limit Use and Disclosure of Sensitive Personal information: You have the right to instruct us to limit the use of your Sensitive Personal Information for purposes not specifically authorized by the CCPA. We currently do not use Sensitive Personal Information for such purposes.
Right to Non-Discrimination for the Exercise of Rights: You have the right to be free from unlawful discrimination for exercising your rights under the CCPA. We will not discriminate against you based upon your exercising your rights with respect to your personal information.
Exercising Your Rights
If you are a California resident and wish to exercise any of these rights, please use the web form available at https://www.gigsalad.com/contact or call us at 866-788-4447.
When submitting your request, you must provide sufficient information to allow us to verify you are the person about whom we collected personal information or their authorized agent. This information includes your first and last name, email address, and address (if applicable). We will only use personal information provided in your request to verify your identity or authority to make the request. If we cannot verify your identity from the information already maintained by us, we may request that you provide additional information for the purposes of verifying your identity and for security or fraud prevention purposes. We cannot respond to your request or provide you with personal information if we cannot verify your identity or authority to make the request and confirm that the personal information relates to you.
When submitting your request, please also provide sufficient detail that allows us to properly understand, evaluate and respond to the request.
Authorized Agents
You have the right to designate an authorized agent to exercise your rights under the CCPA. In order to do so, GigSalad must verify your identity, and your authorized agent must have written permission from you. We reserve the right to deny a request from an agent that does not submit proof that they are authorized to act on your behalf.
Response Timing
We will attempt to respond to a verifiable consumer request within 45 days of its receipt. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and the necessary extension period in writing.
C. Additional Information for Residents of Other Covered Jurisdictions
Residents of certain jurisdictions (other than California, which is addressed above) may also have the right to receive disclosures regarding a business’ processing of “personal data”, as defined under Applicable Privacy Law. Residents of these jurisdictions may have unique rights with respect to our processing of such personal data.
To the extent you are a resident of a jurisdiction with such a privacy law, and we collect, use or disclose personal data subject to your jurisdiction’s privacy law, this section of our policy applies. For more information about the personal data we collect, use and disclose, please see the “Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It” and “Disclosure of Your Information” sections in this policy.
Consumer Rights
Under Applicable Privacy Law, you may have the following rights:
- Right to Access: To confirm whether or not we are processing your personal data and to access such personal data.
- Right of Portability: To obtain a copy of the personal data that you previously provided to us in a format of our choosing as long as it is accessible and machine readable.
- Right to Delete: To request that we delete certain personal data we have collected about you.
- Right to Correction: To correct inaccuracies in the personal data we have collected.
- Right to Opt-out of Sale: Where Applicable Privacy Laws define a “sale” as disclosing or making available personal data to a third party in exchange for money, we do not “sell” personal data; thus, this right is not available to consumers in certain jurisdictions at this time.
- Right to Opt-out of Targeted Advertising: To opt out of the processing of your personal data if it is used for targeted advertising. Applicable Privacy Laws may provide the right to opt out of the processing of personal data for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you. We will comply with those laws.
Exercising Your Rights

Verification Process
We may request that you provide additional information reasonably necessary to verify you and the legitimacy of your request. If you submit the request through an authorized agent, we may need to collect additional information to verify your identity before processing the request. If you are using an authorized agent to exercise your rights, we may deny a request if the authorized agent does not submit proof that they have been validly authorized to act on your behalf.
Response Timing
Upon receiving your request, we will attempt to respond within 45 days. The response period may be extended when reasonably necessary. We will inform you of any such extension within 45 days of receiving your request, together with the reason for the extension.
Right to Appeal
If we decline to take action regarding your request, we will inform you of our decision and reasoning behind it. If you wish to appeal our decision, please e-mail us at help@gigsalad.com. Within 60 days of receipt of an appeal, we will inform you in writing of any action taken or not taken in response to the appeal, including a written explanation of the reason(s) for the decision. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state’s Attorney General to submit a complaint related to the denial.
9. Data Security
We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure.
The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password for access to certain parts of our Services, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share your password with anyone. We urge you to be careful about giving out information in public areas of the Services. The information you share in public areas may be viewed by any user of the Services.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Services. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not, and cannot be, responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Services.
10. International Users
The Services are not directed at or intended for users outside of the U.S. and Canada. Please be advised that if you are located in the European Union or another region with laws related to data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, your personal information submitted through the Services and transferred to the U.S. may not have the same legal data protection as in your jurisdiction.
11. Retention of Personal Information
We will retain your personal information collected through the Services for as long as we deem reasonably necessary or desirable unless any applicable law, rule, or regulation requires a different retention period. We reserve the right to delete or destroy any information collected, including personal information, at any time.
12. User Contributions
You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the Services, or transmitted to other users of the Services or third parties (collectively, “User Contributions”). Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Services with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.
13. Modification of this Privacy Policy
This policy is subject to modification by GigSalad at any time. If you log in after we modify this policy, we will notify you of the update. We will also notify you about material changes to this policy by sending a notice to the email address registered in your account, or by placing a prominent notice on our Site, so that you can choose whether to continue using our Services. Material changes will go into effect no less than 30 days after we notify you. Non-material changes or clarifications will take effect immediately upon posting of the updated policy on our Site.
