I performed with 8 Bit Mike at the Chicago Cubs Headquarters and I have to say Mike provides a one of one experience. If you are looking for a keyboard and/or Keytar player that can perform multiple genres, Mike is your guy. He embodies what it means to be reliable and prepared for any event that you may be hosting. Whether it is a private event, birthday party, cocktail hour, if you are looking for an interactive and unique experience, I highly recommend 8 Bit Mike.

What to Expect
8 Bit Mike’s solo repertoire includes music from all genres and decades. He can also easily add Live musical enhancements to your existing playlist and/or collaborate with you on your desired musical atmosphere. What you get is 8 bit performing on Piano and Keytar either completely solo or over a backtrack like having a virtual band in the background to enhance the sound. Mike will provide a fully portable set up which can include a speaker (if needed), one 88-key Keyboard with a stand, 1 Wireless Keytar with a custom built stand that has incredible capabilities to elevate the event to the next level, a laptop where the high quality sounds are controlled from, and an IPad where the enhanced backtracks are being controlled. All of this can be set up in an extremely compact space. As stated above, Mike travels with a fully mobile sound system, and (2) keyboards; one of the traditional style, and the other is a “keytar,” both of which have sound patch capabilities. What this means is that Michael can easily transition from songs with a solo piano sound, to songs with a featured guitar sound, and then to a third song with a saxophone sound by the push of a button. He enjoys programming his sounds to be suited for a wide variety of audiences. He is a passionate musician, producer, and sonic engineer. Michael’s secret weapon is actually being a multi-instrumentalist, including drums, guitar, and violin, but his primary focus is on the keyboard. His musical skills, adaptability and performance energy are sure to enhance any event.

Most popular as the feature piano man in “Off The Cuf” Live DJ Ensemble by The DJ Firm, Michael plays a myriad of event types, from public lobby spaces, to private cocktail parties; including weddings!
Mike also has experience curating entertainment for Senior Assisted Living communities, where his performance often takes place during activity hours in Memory Care units, sharing the universal language of music and ultimately serving a meaningful purpose to each of the residents' livelihood.

Mike achieved a Bachelor in Music Composition from Columbia College Chicago and also studied at Berklee College of Music. He is a passionate musician, producer, and sonic engineer. Michael’s secret weapon is actually being a multi-instrumentalist, including drums, guitar, and violin, but his primary focus is on the keyboard. His musical skills, adaptability and performance energy are sure to enhance any event.

8 Bit Mike will provide a fully portable set up which can include a speaker (if needed), one 88-key Keyboard with a stand, 1 Wireless Keytar with a custom built stand that has incredible capabilities to elevate the event to the next level, a laptop where the high quality sounds are controlled from, and an IPad where the enhanced backtracks are being controlled. All of this can be set up in an extremely compact space. So not many requirements are needed for staging and lighting. But if the venue does have a sounds system that can be plugged into, that would be great to know in advance of the event. The only other requirement asked is very good power outlets, and potentially longer power extension cables if the power outlets are gonna be very far away from the performance area. This is not necessary, but would be great if available. If an elevated small stage is available, that would also be great, but not necessary either since 8 bit Mike can fit into a small space.
