Mikal Stands aka Bro. Michael X, a student of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan grew up in Los Angeles CA, born in Los Angeles but began his creative path into music and film at the age of 15 while living in Atlanta GA. Growing up, many of his influences have come from his fathers musical taste from the island of Trinidad and Tabago, he was exposed to soca, reggae, as well as pop and hip hop as a child, which ultimately influenced his path into music and film.

His art and music is influenced by the spiritual truths of his teaching, Minister Louis Farrakhan who's often inspiring the artist to use their platforms for greater good, and speaking to issues plaguing the community and society at large. But also, that the hiphop community has the loudest voice for change, and how one song can wake up nations.

Michael X (Mikal Stands) began editing video in 2017, shot his first video for hire in the summer of 2020, and his learning curve has been steep ever since, with traveling to over 6 countries and counting, filming for influencers, artists, working on short documentaries, even growing in photography to take some of the dopest shots portrait style that has gained the attention of many professional photographers locally and nationally. As an artist, He understands the needs of other fellow creatives.

One thing that makes booking this creative for your visual needs, Michael X tries his best not to be influenced by the energy of envy and jealousy when working with fellow artists. Often times we find ourselves as talented artists, who often meet people who may be less talented simply because like Nipsey Hussle said, the only difference between me and them, I didnt quit. So we find ourselves being worked against, secretly sabotaged, and artists who withhold on their gifts to keep us back for fear of our success. Michael X tries his best to see your vision through, as long as it makes sense and its within budget of course... (😊)

Next at Mikaloftyfilms, there is the need to educate the artist on price and cost. Often we think we should have the dopest Michael Jackson video in 2023, but only have a teenager budget. In the words of Jay-Z, you dont get what you deserve, you get what you negotiate. So here we try to educate artists on the business side of video, not just giving someone what they think they deserve. Realistically anything can be filmed, anything, the question is, CAN WE PAY FOR IT?
