    The string trio of Amanda, Cameron and Partick delivered an unforgettable performance on August 1 at my mother's 104th birthday party in Matthews, NC. These accomplished musicians set the stage for a most enjoyable afternoon by their choice of material and their flawless and spirited execution. When they arrived my mother's old singing group was performing; the trio set up quickly, borrowed the singers' sheet music and started to play in accompaniment with them. Later on, the trio played two sets that included a large selection of my mother's favorite music. Showing superb versatility, they accepted all of the audience's requests, capturing the peculiar expressive styles of the original artists. At times the birthday girl, a former piano player and choir singer, sang and danced along with the inspiring performance. We will request another engagement from this group at the next opportunity.
