My brother was proud of his service in the Navy and his Scottish heritage. He loved Navy traditions and all things Scottish. He also loved his boat. When he passed, we agreed that we wanted a burial at sea with a bagpiper. I researched several, but the reviews and video for Stephen Wilkinson were so impressive, I looked no further. In all my contacts with Stephen, he was kind, friendly, and helpful throughout the planning and ceremony. He listened to my ideas, and was very responsive, making suggestions that were so appreciated and helpful. His responses were always timely and considered. On the day of the ceremony, Stephen arrived on time as coordinated. His appearance was everything we could hope for. He made himself familiar with the boat and reviewed our plans. His practice time was enjoyed by several nearby boat owners in the marina! His performance beautiful! He is a true musician and professional. We were a little concerned that on a private vessel, with limited space, the music might be overwhelming, and I knew the few of us there would want to be able to talk to each other and have some quiet time for reflection. Stephen made it happen. The volume from his bagpipes from the fly bridge was perfect. He played Taps and Amazing Grace while my brother’s remains, wreath, and petals were set afloat and the boat circled around, and played traditional Scottish songs intermittently while we enjoyed a short cruise before returning to the marina. Everyone told me that my brother’s send off was the best ceremony they’d been to, and Stephen was a big part of it. I highly recommend Stephen Wilkerson for any event. Thank you, Stephen.
