***What is included in your price quote?
My quotes include the following:
Phone or in-person consultations
Preparation of a draft ceremony for your review
Revisions of the draft to meet your desires
Early arrival on the wedding day to prepare wedding documents, inspect venue and talk to your DJ, musicians, wedding coordinator, photographer, etc.
Finalization and mailing of your wedding license proof of marriage back to the court.
In short, this is everything you need from me to assure you of a perfect wedding ceremony conducted to your wishes. If you want to add a sand ceremony, unity candle, God’s Knot, or any other additional aspect of your ceremony, it is not a problem. You tell me what you want to add, I draft the words necessary to do it at the ceremony, and you provide whatever items or equipment is needed.

***Can we meet with you before hiring you?
Of course. This is probably the most important day of your life, and you need to be comfortable with me. I typically make appointments to meet couples at a mutually convenient coffee shop on weekend mornings.

***How do I hire you to do my ceremony?
Your payment in full holds your date and I stop taking wedding requests from other couples. Only 50% of this deposit is refundable because I stop accepting other couples on your date, and I start working on your ceremony immediately.

***What is your quote based upon?
My quote is based upon my initial estimate of what will be involved in preparing for, creating, and performing your wedding ceremony. This includes travel and preparation time. I do not overcharge. I do this because I enjoy it, not because it is my retirement fund! I try to discourage couples from paying for extra services they do not need. But we will talk about that more if you are interested.

***Will you write our vows?
About 50% of my couples want me to write their vows. The other half write their own. Either is fine with me and does not affect my quote. I am happy to write them for you, or give you help writing them.
When I interview you, I will get a sense of what type of vows you prefer and go from there.

***We don't have a venue picked out, will you come to our home?
Absolutely. I have married many couples in their home, parks, courthouses, etc. I even married a couple in a plane once. Nothing is out of the question, I think . . .

I started performing weddings as part of my duties when I was the Mayor of Hamilton, Ohio in the mid-1980’s. After leaving office, I continued to receive many requests to marry couples, so I become an ordained minister to perform weddings. I do this because I enjoy it, not solely as a business venture.

My experience includes things like officiating a ceremony in a small plane, performing a ceremony as Snape from Harry Potter, and even performing a “fake” wedding where every guest in attendance was in on the joke – except the father of the bride! No request is too outlandish!

We can be elegant and formal, or light and funny. The choice is and should be yours.

All our services are designed to make you the center of attention. No request is too large or too small. Handfasting, sand ceremonies, unity candles, and same-sex couples are welcome.
