Abel Grace

Influenced by the likes of modern roots artists Gillian Welch, First Aid Kit, Langhorne Slim, The Avett Brothers, Shakey Graves, Willie Watson, Folk and country legends such as Bob Dylan, Eric Von Schmidt, the Carter Family, Hank Williams and various Blues musicians including Charley Patton, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Robert Johnson- Abel Grace, born Isabela Garcia, is a 15 year old musician born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. Garcia grew up in a family of musicians, learning violin at 5, and teaching herself various roots instruments including guitar and mandolin starting at the age of 11. She began writing songs at age 12, performing throughout the local circuit -both with bands and solo- by age 13, and making analog recordings in her bedroom.

In 2014, while in town for a music conference, Garcia was invited to join in a performance with members of Whiskey Shivers, Della Mae, and Langhorne Slim at the legendary Station Inn in Nashville, TN. She managed to impress many people in attendance- including Joey Ryan of the Milk Carton Kids and Alex Hargreaves, a well-known and accomplished violinist and graduate of Berkeley University.
