Cool sultry bossa nova is ABRACOS Brazilian Trio. Infectious Afro-samba is ABRACOS Brazilian Trio. Sweet vocals, guitar interludes, roots rhythms is ABRACOS Brazilian Trio. Taking Brazilian music a step further, ABRACOS Brazilian Trio brings to this mix strands of new and old Brazilian ‘Música Popular Brasileira’ (MPB) such as tropilcalia, as well as roots music like maracatu, and choro to name a few. As skilled jazz musicians, ABRACOS Brazilian Trio seamlessly blends all of this to bring you the joy of Brazil rhythms, colors and atmosphere along with unforgettable music.

VOCALS : LAURIE WINESTOCK
Lyrical and sensual, Laurie Winestock’s voice is true to the sounds of Brazil. She finds Brazilian music a natural fit for her deep commitment to the spontaneity and intricacy of Jazz and the rich legacy of folk and world music. Both as a vocalist and composer, she is equally at home in genres as diverse as Brazilian, Afro-Cuban, American jazz & neo-soul. Her original Afro-Cuban Jazz composition ‘Just Enough’ can be heard at (link hidden). Laurie performs around the San Francisco Bay Area at such venues as Cafe Pink House Jazz Club in Saratoga, The Seahorse in Sausalito, The Terrace Room in Oakland, Angelica’s in Redwood City, Geoffrey’s Inner Circle in Oakland and more.
GUITAR : DAVE COPELAND
Sensitive and Dynamic, guitarist and composer Dave Copeland has been playing around the Bay Area for the last 30 years. He has regularly performed at venues such as Angelica’s in Redwood City and Jupiter in Berkeley. He is currently a member of the house band at the Berkeley Yacht Club jam session, as well as playing regularly as a member of the West Side Jazz Club at several venues around SF. As a composer he has written many tunes exploring all the different styles of Brazilian music, from bossa and baiao to choro and samba.
PERCUSSION : DAVE EAGLE
Fluid, versed and inventive, percussionist Dave Eagle is a Berkeley native. His love of music has been with him since before he could walk. His dad, also a percussionist, had congas in the house and would put him to sleep to King Sunny Ade records. He started capoeira when he was five. At five years he also started playing a lot of Brazilian music. He now plays in many bay area local groups. His percussion style includes Brazilian, cumbia, salsa, Latin jazz, hip hop, pop, reggae, New Orleans, boogie-woogie and blues. Dave has played venues as diverse as Yoshi’s, Ashkenaz, New Parish, Great American Music Hall, Boom Boom Room, Madrone, Freight and Salvage, Rum and Sugar, and also plays in a local church band for the past 6 years. “My love for music is great and I feel like music/art is the meaning of life” – Dave Eagle.
