Hilarity, heartbreak, humanity, and brilliant speeches abound as Abraham Lincoln traces his amazing journey from a log cabin to the White House. Learn about his Indiana youth (age 7-21) where frontier life was precarious, disease a constant companion, and death a hovering presence. He worked side by side with his father, mourned the loss of family members, read the books that opened his mind, and developed a determination of spirit coupled with deep compassion for all people. With only meager schooling, our 16th president became a master of the English language, a lawyer of the highest standing and ability, a nationally known debater and orator, and one of the world's greatest statesmen.
He completely captivated our older audience here at Westminster. It was truly a delight. If you're uncertain on whether to book him or not -- do it! It'll change your perspective on history.
Danny was a guest speaker in my 8th grade American History classes. He presented Lincoln's story 7 times in one day. Each presentation was 45 minutes long. Every presentation had the same high energy. He expertly dealt with all types of students from eager to learn students to sleeping students. His presentation went from Lincoln's childhood all the way to the Emancipation Proclamation and the 13th amendment. Ste students enjoyed him. I'll definitely be inviting him again next year!
His performance was spot on, engaging, professional, as well as personal. People enjoyed the performance and being able to take a picture with Abraham Lincoln during our annual Republican Party Lincoln Reagan Dinner! Definitely the highlight of the evening!
Our Family get-together ranges in ages from 4 years to 94 years. A tough audience to keep engaged for 30-45 minutes. Abe Lincoln's fast paced monolog kept the attention with history and humor interspersed. We liked Abe Lincoln.
Wonderful
He provided a great rendition of our 16th president. Abraham Lincoln did a wonderful job and performed wonderfully. He was well received by all in attendance.
Abraham Lincoln, AKA, Danny Russel, provided a wonderful performance for area-wide schools. Following his performance I received many comments from teachers about how much their students enjoyed and learned from the program. What a wonderful way to edutain!
"Mr. Lincoln" gave the Settlers in Fort Wayne, Indiana a wonderful performance on march 9, 2017. Mr. Lincoln was able to delight and teach from his perspective as a pioneer boy, a frontiersman, a lawyer, family man, and President of the United States. Danny Russell swept our members into the emotional trials and challenges of Abraham Lincoln, and lifted us with Lincoln's faith and humor.
I represent a professional group that meets quarterly to discuss commerce, networking opportunities, and community projects. We booked "Abraham Lincoln" as an entertainer for one of our meetings. The experience was awesome and inspiring.
The performance focused on historical and philosophical perspectives related with Lincoln's childhood and then progressed into his political career. There were a few moments when the actor's representation had audience members not only captivated; but almost in tears as he described the struggles related to slavery and civil war.
This booking gave my professional group a night of entertainment and perspective rarely acquired from a community action venue. The members all left the meeting moved by this performance. It is evident that this actor brings a level of professionalism and dependability needed when entertaining business clientele. If you want to hit a homerun with your colleagues; look no further than this "Abraham Lincoln".
