I am a 20 year old part-time accordion player that lives in Santa Cruz to study physics. I have been playing the accordion since I was two years old, and while I never learned music formally, I am a fast-learning auditory musician. Currently, I play worship music at my church, folk, jazz, and classical. I find the accordion to be a great substitution of other wind instruments, such as clarinets, flutes, or organs, but also string instruments like cellos and violins in some pieces. Growing up, I focused too much on speed and accuracy and while it is important, I have learned to give more importance to playing with emotion.
