After Blue

After Blue will perform their original music, mixed with a selection of cover songs. Artists included in their cover song selection include a wide variety such as Tracy Chapman, Al Green, Marvin Gaye, Bruce Springsteen, Beck, and several other artists.

Katie Williamson and Tom Alter have been creating music together for a decade. Originally part of a five piece band, they after performed as the duo After Blue for the past five years.

Their recording focus is on original music that they co-write. They have released three full length albums - "What Is Real, What Is Now" (2016), "Hey" (2017), and "Change of Weather" (2019). Their music includes hints of many different genres - including r&b, alternative, jazz, and folk. They also perform cover songs in a variety of genres.

Katie comes from a musical family. She is the primary vocalist for After Blue and contributes piano and rhythm. She also plays flute.

Tom has been playing guitar since he was eight years old. He contributes occasional vocals to After Blue's music. Tom also performs solo at times and has released some collections of his original music. Tom's solo music is acoustic alternative folk.

After Blue generally performs in two possible configurations and Tom can also perform solo.
1. Large setup - Includes vocals, piano, acoustic and electric guitars, electronic rhythm tracks created by After Blue. This is our fullest sound and works well in larger rooms or festivals.
2. Small setup - Includes vocals, acoustic guitar, and light rhythm. This is a great option for small spaces and often allows for the greatest personal connection with the audience.
3. Tom Alter solo performance - Acoustic guitar and vocals. Features original music and selected cover songs.

All of our equipment is portable and we do have our own PA. We are also able to perform with house PA systems.

We generally play in time period of 1-3 hours. Set up time for the "large setup" is 45-60 minutes. For the small setup, we can usually be ready to play in 30-45 minutes from arrival.

After Blue has their own equipment suitable for small to medium sized venues. All we need is a space to play and outlets to plug into.
