A local Denver artist known for my electrifying harmonica solos, signature funk rhythms, and hard hitting bass lines. When I'm not playing in one of the several Denver bands I am a featured member of I'm bringing it all together in a fun live set with my looper. I record/play guitar, bass, and harmonica live on classic cover tunes and a few of my originals. Kids love me, parents love me, and bartenders love me. I'm always early and won't play too loud unless you want me to.
AJ did a great job entertaining our guests at our backyard party. He plays a great next of music and was very easy to work with. Highly recommended. Our guests want him to come back every year.

I use a looping pedal synced to a drum machine. I record my guitar and the bass over that. I will then sing and play guitar and harmonica solos over the music I recorded into my looper. It has a very full sound and most people are surprised when they realize its just one person! I have a large catalog of artists I cover including Stevie Wonder, Bill Withers, Billy Joel, Nina Simone, Steve Miller, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd, Barenaked Ladies, Phish and Dire Straights. I will use my looping pedal so I can also improvise during my sets. At some performances I will also bring synchronized stage lighting to enhance the ambiance.
I've always been interested in music since I was a young kid. In high school I got the idea in my head that I wanted to learn to play harmonica so I bought one and a book and started learning. Eventually, I got good enough that my friends let me play in a band with them. Our band AJ and the Bear played in Allentown and Bethlehem, PA in the late 2000's. Also, my friend Max let me play harmonica at his shows and we performed for many years as an acoustic duo Later, I learned guitar and I started project of my own called Music From the Moment. We performed improvisational jazz funk in eastern Pennsylvania with many talented musicians. In Pennsylvania I played harmonica in the Latin jazz ensemble the Subtle Experience around 2009 and 2010. In 2011 I played guitar and harmonica in the Reggae band Soulragga. In 2013 I recorded guitar, bass, and harmonica for Eric Hunker's debut album "All These Little Loves." In 2016 I released my debut album called "Signal to Shine Bright" featuring 9 original songs I have written over the years. Now I'm playing and writing in Denver, CO. Most recently I've been playing bass for local jam/reggae group The Sun Dried Nanners and blues/funk band The Belly Rubs. Over the years I've been fortunate to learn from and play with some great players that have shaped my style and playing and look forward to continuing that tradition into the future.
I am able to provide all of my own sounds and lighting if required. My sound system is powerful enough to fill a large room or outdoor space.
