Thought it could have been a longer show!! Under impression it was a 45 minute performance! More like a half hour of dance!

I’ve looked over our correspondence and must apologize that I did not clarify for you the standard timing for these shows after you booked me. Nearly all dancers perform between 20-30 min per show. It’s a LOT of dancing and we want to make sure your guests are entertained and can enjoy the party. 45 minutes of dancing is a very long time to dance for and, frankly, a long time for guests to watch. Dancers spend years learning the art form and spend a lot of money on lessons, costumes, props and more. Our rates reflect the experience, time, prep, choreography prep and travel for each gig we agree to. I did receive compliments from many of your friends and family after the show. It sounds like everyone enjoyed it and I loved getting to dance for the birthday boy! Thank you for inviting me to celebrate with you.

Alashiya is a superb entertainer. We hired her for a family event. She showed up on time and worked with our DJ on the music. We had some technical difficulties (wrt music format), but Alashiya was very patient and waited till the DJ resolved the issue.
Of course, Alashiya is a great belly dancer. She did acts with number of different props, including her sword. The audience cheered on. She also got the audience involved in dancing with her, which was really awesome.
After the event, Alashiya hung out with us briefly, which was very nice of her, since the audience wanted to take pictures with her. Hence, I said above that she is a great entertainer beyond just being a belly dancer.

I've been a dancer my entire life, beginning at age 3. As an adult, I began studying belly dance with the famous Serena Wilson at her studio in NYC. Recognized for my abilities, I was hand picked by her proteges to begin performing at a local restaurant with a live band.
Since 2011, I worked with and dance for Johara and Snake Dance Theater - a troupe that performed regularly at festivals, events and an annual stage performance in Cambridge, MA. After two years, I began co-directing the dance company and choreographing pieces for our shows.
Now I dance for restaurants around New England and enjoy performing for private events.
