Hi, my name is Alessandra! I am an oboist based in San Francisco, and I perform for all types of events - weddings, church services, proposals, and any other kind of event you would like to have me join! You get to choose what specific songs I play, and whether I play solo or with other instrumentalists. However, if you don't want to make those decisions, I'm more than happy to make suggestions or choose for you!
Alessandra was professional, friendly, easy to work with, and performed with outstanding quality. We hope to work with her again!

Argentinian-American oboist Alessandra Ramos, originally from Los Angeles, California, is currently an Artist Fellow with Quinteto Latino–a non-profit organization that brings music education experiences that encourage children of color to express themselves musically and create music that is authentic to their lived experience through standards-based, fun, interactive, age, and culturally appropriate music instruction. Alessandra holds a Master’s degree from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from La Sierra University. She has studied with Russ de Luna, and Dr. Rong-Huey Liu. Other primary teachers include Eugene Izotov, Simone Bensi, and Dr. Jacqueline LeClair, and Claire Brazeau. She has recorded for the album and world-premiere of 'Rhapsody in Blue Reimagined' with Pentatone Records, recorded with the SFCM Orchestra in October 2023. During her undergraduate studies at La Sierra University, she won the department All-Stars Competition, performed several times as a soloist with both the orchestra and wind ensemble, and performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall with the ensembles. She also completed six months of her performance studies at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence, Italy.
This past summer she performed at the Taipei Music Academy and Festival and Hidden Valley Music Seminars. During previous summers, she has attended Hidden Valley Music seminars, and Philadelphia International Music Festival Music House International studying with Elizabeth Starr Masoudnia. Alessandra has also performed in masterclasses under Robert Walters, Dwight Parry, Elaine Douvas, Herbert Blomstedt, among others.
Alessandra is passionate about sharing music with a wide range of audiences, introducing music from underrepresented groups of composers, and advocating for inclusivity in arts education. In addition to her role as an Artist Fellow with Quinteto Latino, she has several years of experience teaching privately, and was also a faculty member at La Sierra University’s Academy of Visual and Performing Arts.
