I play solo baritone guitar. The baritone guitar is lower in pitch than a regular guitar and has a rich, warm tone that is both relaxing and pleasing to the ear. The mellow, jazzy arrangements I perform on the baritone guitar provide excellent background music for receptions, cocktail parties, dinner parties, etc.
Alex was spectacular! He arrived on time, well dressed and performed brilliantly. His approach to solo guitar is amazing, playing very full arrangements (bass line, chords, melody line and percussion sounds) all coming out of his baritone guitar. When watching him it is hard to reconcile the economy of motion of his hands with what your ears are hearing. MANY attendees at the event came over to me to comment on how much they enjoyed Alex's playing. On the scale of 1 to 5 stars he really needs about 8. It would be impossible for me to recommend him any higher.

I prefer to arrive for engagements at least an hour ahead of time to set up and be ready to go at the established start time. My equipment is extremely minimal (one amplifier, one guitar) and I require very little space in which to setup. Once the performance begins at the appropriate time, I provide an easy-going, musical backdrop which can start and stop as per the clients' wishes (if there may are announcements, toasts, speeches, etc. I can easily adapt to this and simply be cued to start and stop accordingly). Depending on the length of the engagement, I require very few breaks. The music and sound I make is meant to enhance the clients' event, not override, distract, or disturb and so, my volume level is always set according the wishes of the client and can be brought down to a very low level if necessary. I enjoy performing and so I tend to play one song after the other in rapid succession with no dawdling or gaps between songs.
I have been playing guitar for over 25 years. With over twenty years of experience in the entertainment field, I have a confident understanding of what it means to be professional. I have toured and played in venues stretching across the continental United States and as a result, I have developed a relaxed, comfortable manner of interacting with people, both as clients and as audience members. My song list is long and varied, including many familiar melodies from a wide range of eras. I have performed as a solo act and as a bandleader in venues ranging from 30 seat establishments to festivals with audiences of over 1000 people. In short, I know what it means to be an accommodating, reliable entertainer who can ensure that your event will be a charming, memorable, and pleasant affair.
I use a basic amplifier that requires access to an electrical outlet. For smaller venues or for intimate, outdoor occasions, I also use a battery-powered amplifier that can be used or placed anywhere.
