Alex did a great job as emcee at one of the annual public programming events at our museum! From the beginning, he was communicative and professional. One of our priorities was to keep the event moving at a good pace, and we actually were able to complete the event almost an hour ahead of schedule thanks to his pacing and time management.

Response from Alex Just, Stand-up Comedian:
Tandi - thank you again to your and your team for having me as emcee. Keeping things on schedule is my happy place so I had a great time doing it!
We are midsize homebuilder in Houston, Texas. Our Q3 meeting and awards is also our annual fundraising event for our adopted family’s holiday presents. Our division is about 50 people strong, and we had a goal to raise $4000 to support a family in need this holiday season. Alex was not only our emcee, he also opened the event with a quick comedic set to get everyone’s juices flowing! Alex did a great job of keeping our program on track, and was always able to jump in when there was a lull, encouraging people to take a look at our amazing raffle prizes, or make more donations, etc. Thanks to Alex, his professionalism, his friendly attitude, and his hilarious talent, I’m beyond thrilled to say we not only met our goal of $4000, but we exceeded it! Thank you so much, Alex! We couldn’t of done it without you.!!!
Alex is a class act, his preparation for the event was phenominal and his routine was very funny and loved by the audience. This was an Information Technology event and Alex kept them laughing which is no easy task. This guy shoud be on Netflix or Showtime....super funny and unique humor.

Thanks Michael - It was a pleasure and a privilege!
Alex was great! He made our holiday company event amazing. I had requested for Alex to give some light-hearted jabs to our co-founder and they were executed perfectly. Since it was a company event we also requested to keep the material PG-13 and he was able to and it didn't take away from the fun. Everyone enjoyed it and so did our co-founder. Alex was able to interact with the crowd and genuinely made our event so much better.

Jasmin, thanks for having me - I had a blast!
Alex provided emcee services for our annual Halloween costume contest.
His quick wit and ability to go with the flow kept our audience engaged and the event moving along.
I highly recommend Alex!
We booked Alex for a private event of around 50 attendees for our tech companies IT meeting.
His material was absolutely hilarious. He did his research on our company and tailored his material to the crowd. We talked beforehand so both of us knew exactly what we were expecting. We didn't have to worry about a thing.
5 out of 5 stars. Would definitely book again.

Thanks for the kind words - I had a blast and would love to perform for you again anytime!
We booked Alex for our corporate event - he was a huge hit! We requested clean comedy and I'm honestly shocked at how funny his set was with only clean jokes. Alex was great: on time, professional, really funny! Everyone said it was the highlight of the event.

I hired Alex JustAlex for a company event I was hosting; what a fantastic decision. Alex was on time, conscientious, friendly, personable and professional. Alex's set was engaging, genuinely funny and he kept it rolling at just the right pace. I honestly had to hold back some pretty intense laughs in order to not be the loudest person in the room LOL. Almost all of the guests commented on what a great job Alex did and what a great idea it was to have a comedian as the entertainment. Alex made my event stand out and made me look pretty cool to my guests. I would definitely work with Alex again!

What to Expect
You can expect a professional comedy show - as clean or as wild as you want it. If you want me to avoid certain subjects, or even focus on certain subjects, I can accommodate. I'm a jack of all trades and have a wide variety of knowledge across many domains and subject matter areas. I have a social network of other comics around the USA and the world that I can pull on to add variety to the show if needed. I can often bring my own audio equipment if that is required, depending on gig location.

Additional Booking Notes
If you're reading this, there's a good chance you're not a comedy expert. Don't worry - that's my job! In fact you don't even need to read any of this - if you book me we'll have a quick chat and I'll handle all the details.
But, if you're the type of person who's got to know all the little details - here they are ...
NONE OF WHAT'S BELOW IS REQUIRED - but it all helps.
Below are the technical details of what makes an ideal setup for comedy - I've done plenty of gigs that were the opposite of what's below - I'll deal with whatever you have but want you to get the most for your money. I'm very happy to discuss any and all of this over the phone or zoom.
Audience: The ideal setup focuses the audience on the show. Music can be more of a background thing, but comedy requires attention to get the most out of it. This means:
- The audience knows that comedy is happening - if they're expecting to mingle and talk they might just keep doing that and ignore what you paid for.
- They're focused on the stage. The ideal is rows of seats facing the stage with no distractions (apart from drink service). If they're at banquet tables that requires some people to turn their chairs around - but it should happen after most of them are done eating so they can do that.
- Laughter is contagious. Everyone should feel comfortable and safe with respect to COVID, but comedy clubs pack people together and have low ceilings for a reason. The more they can hear other people laugh, the more they'll laugh! Again, within safety/comfort limits - I independently create drive-in comedy during the pandemic where people sat in their cars and honked instead of laughing and it was a blast.
Sound: The audience needs to be able to hear the jokes to laugh at them. This usually means a microphone and amplifier loud enough for the event space in a room without a lot of echo. Wired mics are more reliable and generally sound better than all but the most expensive wireless mics. I've also done fine with no mic because my voice projects
Lighting: Comedy involves non-verbal communication - gestures, act-outs, facial expressions. The performance area should be well lit. The lights should also be non-distracting - flashing, color changing, disco balls and the like can detract from the performance.
It's nice to have a small table or stool on the stage where I can keep a glass of water.
