Chelsea Wright is a professional vocalist with a B.A. in Vocal Performance and an Associate’s degree in Music Education from Millikin University, IL. Chelsea has studied opera in Italy, choral music in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia, and was invited to perform at Carnegie Hall as part of her college choir. Winner of the Millikin University Concerto Competition in 2014, she has subsequently acquired experience through competition and performance.
When not teaching students, Chelsea brings her cheerful attitude and crisp professionalism to wedding events in the Midwest. Her repertoire includes sacred, oratorio, gospel, classical/romantic, jazz, and some pop music.
Beautiful voice but I would not hire her again.
Response from Alicia Toft:
Thank you for your review, Tracy. Wishing you and your family well in this difficult time.
Chelsea helped me celebrate my girlfriend's birthday with a beautiful performance in our backyard. Since we can't go to watch shows or theater, Chelsea agreed to bring the Opera to us. My girlfriend was super happy and all our guests loved the show. Chelsea arrived on time and ready to sing. We got to enjoy many songs in Italian and English and even in French. This gave us a little break from the pandemic by feeling transported to the Opera. Can't wait to have Chelsea over again!

Because of my background in education, I am a friendly conversationalist with a lot of love for music to share, and I believe that no professional would make an audience or client feel uncomfortable or insignificant. Ask me all kinds of questions!
My repertoire includes soft pop, jazz, some musical theater, and a great deal of classical literature such as masses, arias, classic love songs, soft pop, sacred music, and some instrumental piano music. My favorite pieces are arias; in fact, my specialization is in opera!
I am most comfortable in a black dress, pearls, and heels; all of my performances are classic and elegant. I bring to every performance a powerful stage presence, a cheerful disposition, and a concise knowledge of my own craft and instrument.
I provide voice and beginning piano lessons for students aged 16-elder. I sing at weddings, funerals, community events, dinner events, holiday events, church services, proms, cocktail events, private parties, fundraisers, anniversaries, family reunions, banquets, grand openings, festivals, clubs, and corporate events. Please contact me for more information, or for special requests!
I've studied and performed in such places as Italy, the Estonian States, Carnegie Hall in New York City, and others. My education is in Vocal Performance and Music Education from Millikin University, where I studied with amazing musicians as Guy Forbes, Brad Holmes, and masterclasses with Alan Held. I am currently owner of my own studio, Wright Act Studio, in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois.
Please inform me beforehand if you will require me to find an extra accompanist; I consider this part of my fee.
I will require that the vendor for your event provide equipment for lighting and sound.
