Alissa performed for me two year-olds birthday.
She brought tons of enthusiasm, was engaging AMs interactive!
I highly recommend hiring her.
Thank you, Alissa for making a 3 year old birthday girl very happy! Alissa was amazing. Completely engaging for a wide age range, full of energy, personality, and a great voice! She learned some of my daughter’s favorites which was so appreciated.
Alissa sang and entertained at my son’s first birthday. We had about 15 kids ranging from 1-5. She was awesome! She kept the kids engaged the entire time with songs, dancing, instruments, and even bubbles. I highly recommend Alissa!
Fantastic!!! Loved her energy!
Alissa was tremendous at my son's first birthday party.. Very flexible and accomodating as we planned. And she was so great with the kids - no matter the age, they loved her. She seemed to have a lot of fun herself. Highly recommended!
Alissa did an amazing job entertaining 12-14 kids ranging in ages from 6 months to 6 years old. She held their normally short attention spans for almost an hour with her songs and instruments. They loved the guitar and little add ons that she brought. She had a beautiful voice and great personality for children and grownups! Everyone at the party commented on how great she was.
Alissa Coates recently performed for the Acton Family Networks Sweetie Valentine's Day Party. This event was attended by approximately 100 children and their families. Alissa was great to work with ahead of the event- she was very prompt with providing a quote and any requested information. At the event she kept the children rapt with her engaging, interactive performance. The children were clearly entertained and I heard from a number of parents that they also enjoyed the music. It was also appreciated that Alissa's music was at a volume to be a part of, but not overwhelm, the party. AFN would love to have Alissa back at another event in the future!
Alissa entertained a group of eight 7-8 year old girls as part of my daughters' birthday party. A few of the girls were special needs & Alissa did such an excellent job connecting with each and every girl. They ALL participated and were so excited for the songs, movement & musical instruments. Alissa was a natural with the kids and was very warm and engaging. I would definitely recommend her!

By hiring an experienced teacher for your child's next party, you ensure that the experience will not only be fun, but also educational. Alissa engages children with common early elementary themes including animals, counting, weather and sounds. Many of these songs can be found in a typical music class, making them accessible and familiar to children and parents alike!

Alissa Coates was born and raised in Upstate New York. By the age of three she had shown her desire to be onstage and she has been performing since. Her start in music came from a wonderful elementary music teacher who recognized her potential and recommended her to an area choir director. In 1998, Alissa began singing with the Eastman Bach Children's Chorus (later known as the Bach Children's Chorus) of Rochester.
Upon entering high school, Alissa took every opportunity to sing and perform. She participated in every school show, joined every choir and began spending her summers at drama and music camps. Of these, Eastern U.S. Music Camp had the largest impact. It was there she learned about her love of teaching.
While at Berklee, she quickly became involved in school life. She ran Berklee’s largest club, Jams @ Berklee, for three years, and was Present of Berklee’s Collegiate chapter of MENC (now NAfME) through her senior year. Alissa has been the recipient of two music education awards: the 2011 MMEA Promising Music Educator award and the 2011 Berklee College of Music Promising Alumna Award: Vocal Category.
Alissa currently teaches Kindergarten through 8th grade music in Bolton, MA, teaches private lessons around Central Massachusetts and performs at birthday parties. Alissa performs at both adult and children's events throughout the state!
Please have an easily-accessible outlet available and enough space for kids to move around. If requested, bubbles will be towards the end of the show, so if you need to change locations in order for them to be used, please let Alissa know in advance. Parents should be on hand in case their child needs them; there must be at least three adults with the children at all times.
A small travel fee will be added for locations more than 30 minutes from zip code 01420 (Fitchburg, MA).
If hosting the event at a venue requiring paid parking, please make arrangements to have a prepaid spot open near the location in advance, or make other arrangements with Alissa.
