Born James McClain, in 1982 to Ethel Mae McClain & James Johnson. He's a Louisiana native to Franklin, a little city, 1 hour west of New Orleans. Nick named "Killer" at birth, the name stuck with him. In his early school years, young James was an honor student. After being impacted by his environment, and what very little the community had to offer, education, was the last thing he wanted to further. He had heard 1 of his friends freestyle rapping, and thought it was something, he wanted to try. He managed to graduate Franklin Sr. High in 2001, a year behind his graduating class of 2000. When most kids wanted to go to college, Killa McClain, only wanted to start his own record label. He started recording music, expressing his views, and the lifestyles of those in his life, and around him. Many say he is 1 of the best story tellers, and lyricist, hip hop has ever seen. Independent, and with a style all his own, he is 1 of the most anticipated artist in Southern Louisiana.
