Almost An Artist

I am currently working on finishing this record of mine. It shall soon be finished, at which point a full band is to be put together.

Currently, I do solo shows, where I play the songs as guitar/ vocal songs. It's an interesting and enjoyable process as it requires a specific kind of rearrangement. I've long been fascinated by the art of making a full orchestrated song work for a solo performance. "Guy/ gal with guitar" tends, in my opinion, to fall a little flat most of the time. There are not many Jose Gonzales's out there ... it would seem.

To give you a sense of what I currently offer, imagine that I approach my shows the way Jose Gonzales might.

It is an inquisition through musical waves, dark moments and observations about life. Echoes of Depeche Mode and the Queens of the Stone Age collapse into ambient reminders of Air and Kings of Convenience, which then rise into beat oriented pop, à la Beck or Jamiroquai. It apprehends the ear … hijacks your heart.
