Overview
I am a professional piper with an extensive repertoire of traditional Scottish & Irish tunes. I also play tunes of faith and patriotic tunes upon request. I've been playing professionally since 2006 having played for many funerals, weddings, memorial services, church services (Cowboy Church & Native American) and birthday parties. I was honored to play my pipes in Arlington National Cemetery over the graves of Five-Star Generals Omar Bradley, General of the Army; and General George C. Marshall, General of the Army. After the funeral home telling me they had no one to provide I went online and found the Amazing Grace Piper. Was wonderful choice. He communicated with me frequently to make sure he provided what I wanted. Funeral home and minister missed requests but the piper provided everything in a respectful and tasteful manner. We were all very pleased and would recommend him highly. He even added an extra touch at the end that was perfect.

He was punctual and looked perfect in his full formal Scottish regalia. He immediately joined the people who were responsible for the respectful memorial service. He did this in an unassuming, polite manner. He provided a beautiful performance, playing close attention to when he was the center of attention and when he needed to provide background music. He was very flexible and helpful. Since the memorial service, I have enjoyed many compliments from my family, friends, and neighbors regarding how wonderfully touching and respectful this service was. They all say it was memorable.

Mr. Pharaoh was just fantastic when he played for our wedding last weekend. He came to the rehearsal to see when and where he was to play and on the actual wedding day he was at the church early decked out in his wonderful regalia. His playing was a highlight of this wedding and I highly recommend him for any wedding , funeral or party where the wonderful sound of the bagpipes is desired!

I left a wee note on William & Susan's tote bag that read, "Lang May Yur Lum Reek". It's an old Scottish tradition to tell the newly married couple on their wedding day. It translates to: "Long May Your Chimney Smoke". Or, "May your home be always warm and hearty". We can give Robert Burns credit for that.

My mother turned 90 this year and we wanted to do something extra special. We feel so blessed beyond words that he answered our request. He made her birthday as good as it gets. He was so friendly and personable and my mom was over the top thrilled with him on so many levels. His music was beautiful and melodic and between songs he would explain his clothing or just visit and answer any questions. 'Amazing Grace Piper'
Kent, was brilliant in the run up to our event. Super communicative, played well and did a particularly nice job explaining the significance of what he was playing. This was a Burns Supper with a bit of playing in our neighborhood to launch a charity cause we are fundraising for a neighbor.

What to Expect
When I am booked to perform for an event, you can expect me to stay in touch up to the date that your event is scheduled. I'm a firm believer in keeping the communication lines open so that the event will flow flawlessly. On the date of the scheduled event, I always plan on arriving at least an hour prior so as to acquaint myself with the venue, visit with the event coordinator or family and also to allow my pipes to acclimate to the temperature & humidity so that they will sound their best when it comes time to perform.
About
I have been playing the bagpipe professionally since 2006. My repertoire includes traditional Scottish & Irish tunes, tunes of faith, Christmas tunes, and Patriotic tunes. I have played my pipes for numerous civic organizations including the Downtown Rotary Club in Tulsa, OK, and the Bartlesville Lions Club on several occasions. My proudest moment was when I played my pipes over the graves of Generals Omar Bradley and George C. Marshall (Generals of the Army) in Arlington National Cemetery. I have performed in many area churches including Asbury Church (Tulsa) with their full Orchestra & Choir in a beautiful arrangement of Amazing Grace (2018). I have performed at the First Baptist Church in Rogers, Arkansas on several occasions for their Christmas Cantata (2016 & 2017). (A video of the performance is available on this website).
I am an active member of the Oklahoma State University Pipes & Drums and a former member of the City of Tulsa Pipes & Drums.
I am a retired highway-heavy contractor and cattle rancher. My wife and I will celebrate 54 years of marriage in 2023. We are blessed with three adult children and seven very special grandchildren. We are both active in our church and keep Christ at the center of our marriage.
If you are looking for a solo piper or an ensemble or mini-pipe band, that can probably be arranged given sufficient time. A mini-pipe band will consist of three pipers, a Scottish snare drummer, and a bass drummer. Call or text anytime.
