Born in Jacksonville, Florida, Amy Alysia grew up in music and in a family centered in the church. She discovered her earliest musical influences by listening to gospel artist such as the Winans, Commissioned, Andre Crouch and the Clark Sisters just to name a few. Although listening to secular music wasn't allowed in her household she used school to hear other types of music that intrigued her. Amy was influenced by female vocalist such as Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Sade, Natalie Cole, Whitney Houston and Anita Baker. She also is a big fan of jazz, R&B, rock and roll and even some country music. These are the styles of music that influence and inspire her performances today.
