Andrew Gleason is an ALTERNATIVE comedian in Chapel Hill, NC. He's been performing around the Southeast since 2015 and has been featured at many comedy festivals. He's performed on and helped produce shows for Maria Bamford, Emo Phillips, and Dusty Slay.
Andrew blends punchline heavy comedy sets with improv comedy, performance art, and a focus on absurd and surreal perspective. His performances are never what you expect and are built on a foundation of alternative comedy and the lineage of joke-heavy comics from a bygone era. Things get weird, tense, and downright funny!
He can work clean but prefers PG13.
We enjoyed having Andrew for our 40th birthday celebration. He was very communicative every step of the way and on time. I asked for our show that it be kept with clean comedy and he did. To our surprise he ended with some nice dance moves!!!! We recommend Andrew and would have him again in the future!!
I have know Andrew and been booking and preforming with him on shows for the better part of a decade. He has consistently been one of my favorite comedians to see and work with. Andrew has a comedic voice fully his own. It combines improv, crowd work, act outs, and stopwatch precision setup-punchline jokes that both baffle and delight. If you have a show to promote and need a truly unique voice Andrew Gleason is your guy.
Andrew did my virtual show and he was one of my best guests. He completely geared his material towards the theme of the show and had everyone dying. His mix of written material and improvisational skills make him a standout on any lineup. Also a very professional and sincerely nice person to work with. Highly recommend!!

Andrew Gleason began performing improv in Chapel Hill, NC. After playing with various longform teams, Indy teams, and Harold teams, he began performing stand-up comedy in August 2015. His unique blend of absurdism and surrealist punchlines is influenced by alternative comedians dating back to the 1970s as well as various performance artists he has encountered. He is truly one of a kind. He also writes, directs, and acts in a sketch group and has published writing in The Sun Magazine.
