About
The hammered dulcimer has been a pleasure in Anna’s life for over twenty-three years. From (phone number hidden)9 she was the “hammer” of the duo “Arm & Hammer” with guitarist Stefan George. They performed throughout Arizona and the US for thirteen years and recorded five albums together.
With the new millennium Anna started a career as a solo hammered dulcimer artist performing primarily Spanish Classical & Latin folk music. In October of 2001 she released her first solo album, “Dulcianna…A Southwest Dulcimer”. In March of 2002 Anna began studying with master guitarist Dr. Jorge Pastrana. Together they have adapted Spanish Classical guitar music to the hammered dulcimer and release a CD in 2007 of their colaboration entitled "Por la Gracia de Dios".
Anna continues to teach and perform around the country at festivals and music camps including the prestigious “Swannanoa Gathering” at Warren Wilson College, Asheville, NC, the “Augusta Spring Dulcimer Week” at Davis & Elkins College, Elkins, WV and the Upper Potomac Dulcimer Festival in Shepherdstown, WV. She is also the founder & director of “Southwest Dulcimer Acoustic Music Gathering” An annual event that draws dulcimer and music lovers from around the continent for workshops & concerts.
