To find out more about my musical background, see my bio below:
"Flutist Anthea Kechley has been immersed in music from an early age, absorbing the beautiful sounds of the flute by listening to her mother play, up in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. Anthea has since pursued an active life as a flutist, having performed in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Japan, and throughout the United States.
As a resident of the northeast, Anthea has performed with the Berkshire Symphony, The Philadelphia Singers, and the Irish Tenors Christmas Tour, and appeared regularly with The Chelsea Symphony and Ensemble 212 in New York City. As a concerto soloist, she has performed with Orchestra Seattle, Williams Chamber Players, and The Chelsea Symphony. In addition, Anthea is the recipient of the Best of Chamber Music Prize from The Hartt School, the Keith Lockhart Scholarship from Brevard Music Center, and First Prize winner of the Bennington Choral Society competition in both 1999 and 2001.
Anthea earned her Bachelor’s Degree in flute from the Birmingham Conservatoire in England, her Master of Music Degree in flute from the Mannes College of Music, and has also had the privilege of studying and performing at some of the prestigious summer festivals around the country, such as Aspen Music Festival, Brevard Music Center, and Texas Music Festival."

Music selections consists primarily of Classical, Romantic and Baroque styles, though I can mix in jazz or pop if desired.
My influence comes from all the great classical flutists that I have had the privilege of hearing and studying with over the years; Julius Baker, Jean-Pierre Rampal, Keith Underwood, Bonita Boyd, Judith Mendenhall, Leone Buyse, and Jeanne Baxtresser, among others. Many of my colleagues and peers also inspire me daily!
