I am a music education student at Appalachian State University and frequently accept and play flute gigs within 2 hours of Boone, NC during the school year. I am also interested in beginning a network in and around Raleigh and Cary during the summer, school breaks, and weekends! Currently, I primarily play flute and piccolo and am comfortable with most styles/genres if given enough notice! If you're unsure whether I'll be in the Boone area or the Cary area during your event, shoot me a message!

I am very flexible! Depending on your availability and plans, I am happy to attend as many or as few rehearsals as you would like. I will always be appropriately early to every engagement so that I have time to warm up, get to know you, and get my bearings in the venue.
Hi! My name is Ashley. I grew up in Cary, North Carolina and have loved music ever since I started piano lessons in the first grade. When I joined middle school band, I was asked to play the flute so I did- and quickly fell in love. I enrolled in private lessons not long into my second year of band, and was first chair in my high school band in my freshman year.
I thrived in my high school wind ensemble, and eventually decided that music was what I wanted to do. After many auditions (and acceptance into every music program I auditioned for), I chose Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina. I am now in my junior year and am studying Music Education, with hopes to teach band after I graduate. I have studied flute under Dr. Nancy Schneeloch-Bingham for the entirety of my time at Appalachian. At the time of this writing, I am the principal flutist in the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra, and have performed with the Appalachian Wind Ensemble, the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra, and the pit orchestra at Milligan University. I love to play any kind of music, particularly classical, and my very favorite type of gig is playing in a musical theatre pit orchestra.
I love to gig around Boone, and in Cary during the summer and school breaks! I am willing to travel up to 3 hours from Boone or Cary, so shoot me a message if you're in the area and are wondering if I'll be near you when you need a flutist!
In the majority of situations, I will not need a microphone, especially if I am performing solo or only with an accompanist. All I will need is a music stand (I can bring my own if requested) and ample standing room. If I play with a piano, the stick will need to be down.
Music stand preferred- but I can bring my own if needed!
