Auntie Kayte enchants children 3 to 12 with fun original interactive songs that re-cast traditional fairy tale characters into modern role models and provoke thoughtful conversations, even among three-year-olds! Shows include onstage volunteer participation with props, as well as group sing-along and move-along songs with tracks and guitar. Perfect for libraries, summer camps and after-school programs, in-school programs, shopping malls, festivals, porch concerts and special events.
Seasonal and holiday shows are also available.
Tip: Kayte sounds like Kate
Auntie Kayte was fantastic for our event. She performed in a room with roughly 30 kids, some of which were disabled, and did well. We would definitely hire her again.
Response from Auntie Kayte Children's Music:
Thanks, Natalie! It was my pleasure!
Auntie Kayte showed up early, set up quickly, was dressed colorfully as befit the occasion and kept the crowd entertained.
Auntie Kayte was incredibly charming and had every kid interacting, singing, dancing and having a great time! Every song had a great message too. Socially educational and fun. There were also crafts the kids loved doing. Thank you auntie Kayte for elevating our party!

Thanks, Jamie! It was great fun!
"The Friends of Lincoln Park in Downtown Long Beach have had the honor of having Auntie Kayte bring her musical storytime to our events at the park. She has a magical affect on the children that are surrounding her. With her Treasure chest that holds an array of costumes or her storyboard of drawings that capture the imaginations of all who watch and listen while engaging her audience for a morning, afternoon or evening of learning with song. We are looking forward to our next opportunity to have the amazing Auntie Kayte capture our attention again. Thank you! "
Price Range: $200 and up
Gig Length: 30 - 180 minutes
Languages: English, German, Spanish
Auntie Kayte's music is designed to get kids singing, moving, listening and talking. She shows up with her magic box of props and invites kids to dress up and sing about and discuss career options for smart princesses and consequences and compassion for pirates as well as singing about and brainstorming what kids can do to make their world a better place. Kids love the in-between games and discussions as much as the music.
Auntie Kayte's music has great energy, but is not designed to get kids bouncing off the walls. For younger kids, she usually sings mostly a cappella, since research shows that this is best for young ears and brains to develop an understanding and appreciation of words and melody.
For older kids, Auntie Kayte either sings with tracks, or for bigger groups, brings along additional musicians.
Auntie Kayte's custom "Window to the Garden" backdrop is available if space and time allows.
Auntie Kayte can provide a one-time interactive performance for a children's party, festival, community center, library, church, school or other group; or a series of workshops that build upon each other to help kids learn meaningful songs that instill positive messages that stick in their heads.
CRAFTS: For smaller groups (up to 25), a crafting add-on is available to make crafts like princess crowns and pirate patches related to the songs.
Auntie Kayte requires that at private or public events, the responsible adults remain present during the performance.
Note: Although I speak German and Spanish, I am currently only performing children's music in English.

Depending on the size of the group, Auntie Kayte may or may not use amplification. With younger kids it's often better to keep the volume down. For outdoor venues where a sound system is not already in place, I bring a basic speaker and microphone setup.
As a solo act, I need about 5x7 feet of space and a chair or low table for my magic prop box.
If I'm bringing musicians, we need more space, depending on how many musicians are involved.
