Austin Polka Band

When you hire the Austin Polka Band you can expect a group of professional musicians who take playing gigs seriously but have fun at the same time. We have been playing together since 2004 so you will get musical perfection.

We sit in 2 rows of 4-5 players. Front row: 2 cornets, 2 clarinets, sax, accordion. Back row: peck horn, baritone, trombone, tuba, drums. We can scale down the group for smaller venues. We can play softly (what we commonly call "wallpaper music") or we can blow the foam off a tasty Oktoberfest beer!

* Arrive 30 minutes early. Are seated and ready for downbeat precisely on time
* Load on and off stage in less than 15 minutes
* Provide our own chairs, if necessary
* Do not need to be amplified unless it's a large event
* If outdoors, need to be under cover or in a shaded area

Basically, we are a laid back easy band to work with, a band that provides quality music, and last but not least..... a band that will make your event loads of fun!

Austin Polka Band is made up of accomplished musicians from all walks of Musical Life. Our musicians play in many different types of bands: concert bands, brass bands, dixieland, big band, swing, jazz, on and on. We favor our polka band because of our love for the music and the fun interaction we have with the audience. Afterall, polka music makes people drink more beer and dance like they never thought they could! Chicken dance, anyone?

* If outdoors, need to be under cover or in a shaded area
* If nighttime, lighting would be good but not necessary
* Need 10 chairs. Preferably armless. We can provide them, if necessary
* Do not need amplification unless its a large event
* Gigs longer than 1.5 hr, hospitality (food/drink) is greatly appreciated
